there are websites where you can set up DDs which will be much faster than others -

how safe are these quick DD sites ?  I’ve not used them before but thinking of trying the Lloyds switch but would need to set up some DD as only account I could use has none at present.  Just a bit wary of giving bank details to someone I’ve not heard of before.   I know why but it’s a pain they don’t accept switches from Halifax as I’ve got 2 DD on that and could easily set up one more but 3 new ones that quick is a pain 😫
I used 30pence for the first time yesterday, the DD has appeared on my doner account today. No debit yet.

Gets the OK from the large swapper community on Reddit.

I've used onepounddd in the past, no problems, just delete the DD when the swap's over (and the booty has been paid).

Not so quick but "safer" - connect bank account (not debit card) to Paypal and pay a friend (on PayPal) 50p.

MoneyBox/Plum savings apps will probably take a week to set up and take a payment.

Plenty of charities will take a couple of quid a month by DD, but please let these run for a decent time (or for ever).
    Thank you

all have worked and have used them multiple times.  I dont touch my existing DDs, I just use these who set up DDs through Stripe.  You are only giving out your account details - they dont get access to your account or have ability to read transactions.  All DDs will have separate DD ref numbers and will make it eligible for DD requirement even if it will show Stripe for all on your bank account

Did you get any sort of email confirmation (or the newsletter)? I signed up yesterday too and all seemed to work, but nothing so far...

No nothing, other than (1 of 2) DDs appearing as pending on my current account details

Thanks, I had wondered as certain commentary on the site suggested they'd send something straight away. I'll certainly not complain if I miss out on their newsletter altogether.
Perhaps Santander is a bit slower to show DDs, I've no prior experience of this.

I've been waiting for the Lloyd's switching offer over the Christmas period, and today it showed on mse.
I downloaded the app on my phone and applied, twice, with a "No products available" message ending my applications.
I then tried on my laptop, on the Lloyd's website, with exactly the same end result.

I have excellent credit history so can't see it's to do with a rejection.
    Anyone know what's going on?
Your actions suggest that you are not an existing Lloyds customer?

This switch offer is bound to be popular - the bribe is a decent increase on recent offers. Maybe their systems are just very busy?

Correct, I would be a new customer.

It's quite annoying as I passed the ID checks, added the account to be switched details etc etc.
Then with no real explanation as to the fail.

I'll give it another go later, or early tomorrow morning.
Did you have any luck with getting this sorted out in the end? I tried the current Lloyds refer a friend offer to someone that had no previous Lloyds products and they went through the long-winded app sign-up process three times with passport scan and selfie for ID checks, address info, income, what they had for breakfast, starsign etc, only to end with the briefest flash of a selection of accounts then suddenly a white screen with 'No Products Available' every time. I thought it might be due to security settings on their phone, but if you say a web application has the same result then it seems like there's something else causing it.

I did try again, several more times, and eventually got all the way through.
The end result was I am to wait for their checks to be completed.
I've heard nothing at all and it's been 24 hours.

I checked my credit rating today and it shows several checks made by Lloyd's yesterday, so the applications must have got far enough to have registered searches.

Looks like they've been overwhelmed with applications.

I've now got three pending DDs on a new Chase CA, two 30pence and a PayPal.

Got TSB account which stopped getting £5 rewards 3 years ago despite me upgrading/downgrading as I do with other TSB accounts.

Debit card mislaid/might be expired, not able to get info re lost card etc section due to either not all account cards loading or  "An error has occurred"

Wondering what experiences others have of switching bank without DC details as obviously do not want to set direct debits up and then possibly miss L.B switching incentive deadline.
