Lloyds switch offer 6 January to 3 February 2026

I'm in the same position: I have joint Club lloyds, a sole club lloyds and my wife has another sole club lloyds. I was going to downgrade both sole CL to classic and hopefully open 2 more new sole CL for switch. If this is not possible as some people seem to be having trouble, next plan was to open 2 sole Silver accounts then downgrade after bonus paid (hopefully) I am a serial switcher and just managed to scrape into this offer by a month and it would be a shame to miss such a gererous offer.Cheers!!!0

I was under the impression the online/app account selection page hides the option if you have an existing account, including joint, so it may be necessary to open via a different channel, or temporarily downgrade the joint account too.2

Lloyds have decided that I like paper - four identical letters from the Switch Team telling me that they are transferring payment details to my new account. Dated 16/01, arrived 23/01, same day that the switch completed.flaneurs_lobster said:
Lloyds have sent me a letter (pretty sure I'm paper-free everywhere I can be) with exactly this information.Well, I'll be testing out this enquiry service, because I've instigated a switch but have received no confirmation email or anything, and am now panicking that I've switched into the wrong account (i.e. Classic not Club, which doesn't get the bonus). And from what I can see, there's no way of knowing if you've got a switch in progress, either online or in the app.
I assume this means that I will receive four switch bonuses.4 -
In my experience, once a sole Club Lloyds a/c has been downgraded you cannot open a new one if you still have a joint Club Lloyds a/c.You will also need to downgrade your joint a/c. You can then see the option to open a new sole Club Lloyds a/c.Unfortunately, you can't then upgrade the joint a/c back to a Club Lloyds one.You can try to open a new joint Club Lloyds from the 'open joint account' but I get an error whenever I try this. It worked for me last year on the desktop + phone not using their app, but I think it now only works using the app. My wife's phone should run the app but gives an error when logging in. In another post, someone said they'd successfully opened a joint a/c using the app on 2 phones.1

£1000 for a tiny bit of effort of setting up direct debits? Can't complain!flaneurs_lobster said:

We don't have 2 mobile phones so that won't work for me. I think I might just open a silver account and downgrade it once the bonus has been paid. If that isn't doable then I will have to close it
I think I will do that asap just in case they pull the offer over the weekend

Just to add my recent experience: I downgraded my sole Club Lloyds account about a week ago, but also have a joint Club Lloyds account, and like others on here, I couldn't open another sole CL account online or through the app. However, I was able to open a new one by calling Lloyds and speaking to their new accounts (fulfilment) team. It look about 20 minutes due to the need to read aloud various terms and conditions.
They were aware the joint CL account owners can't open a sole account themselves, though one advisor I spoke to believed the option may be possible again through the app 30 days after downgrading an account (too late for this switch deal obviously). I don't know if this is accurate though.2 -
Thank's for this.
I went ahead and opened the Silver account today as I was concerned that the switch offer might be pulled soon. Hopefully the incentive will be paid out quickly so I don't have too many monthly fees to pay

My switch is happening after ive been paid and bills paid so I wont have the £2,000 paid in so will get hit with the £5 fee. Can I just transfer £500 back and forth so I transfer more than £2,000 in? Would that work? All from one account or 4 different accounts? Thanks0

That will work, even if shuttling just between 2 accounts. All of which can be Lloyds/Lloyds Group but if you have an external account, it's even better.0
