    Morning all,

Glad you received your refund @bubbs that’s a relief. Not so much DH’s wait for an appointment to get a blood test link. Can you do an e-consult to explain the urgency in keeping this in check? I know you shouldn’t have to, but needs must x

Thank you for the car sympathy. DH reckons ours is a faulty fuse as all steering wheel functions have ceased working (apart from actually steering the car that is!). He’s dropping me at work today and will take a look.

Move to Kent @milann then we can go to the folk and hop festivals together with @joedenise!

    Food today:
    B - satsuma, banana, spinach omelette - S, free, P
    L - apple, 20 almonds, HM BNS soup - S, HEB
D - gnocchi with peas and Parma ham - 5
    HEA - milk
    Syns - skinny bar 3 plus 5 = 8 total

Morning all, another grey day with rain forecast yet again.  Getting fed up with it as hate not being able to hang the washing out!  Another load done this morning and now in the dryer.  Glad I've got some credit on the utility account to help pay for the extra electric use!

Lovely idea @Coxy11 for @milann, you and I to go to the folk and hop festivals together!  I definitely won't be going to the hop festival this year as it's at the beginning of September and we'll be in France/Belgium/Germany in the motorhome!

Can understand why you're hesitating about moving @milann as you seem to have lots of friends and things you enjoy doing where. you are but I'm sure if you moved nearer family you'd find friends and things to do.  Have to say there's probably not as many places to use the motorhome in the south as you seem to go to in the north!  We invariably end up at the Canterbury Park and Ride and then go out on the bus to different places.  Apart from that we belong to the Camping and Caravanning Club (CCC) and use the weekend meets and for longer breaks the Temporary Holiday Sites.

    Today's plan:

B - muffin, smashed avocado, smoked salon - HEB; HEF; P (should have had a poached egg on top but run out of eggs until I go shopping, LOL!)
    L - carrot and lentil soup - P; S; F
D - not sure - might have Fakeaway KFC but will look while out shopping to see if anything takes our fancy instead - will need to buy some chicken thighs whether or not we have KFC!

    HEA - milk
    HEB - muffin
    HEF - avocado
    Swips:  none planned

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning. It’s my day off today and I’ve just taken my car in for a service. Had to walk home in the pouring rain so I look a bit like a drowned rat. Still it was 30 mins of excercise that I wouldn’t have done and I’ll be doing it again when the car is ready for collection (Hope it’s not raining then)
going to give the house a good scrub now and then have my lunch.

I’ll be having the remaining SW coronation chicken in a brown roll, some fruit and a cheeky bag of mini cheddars that I found in the pantry.
Not sure who is in for tea tonight so it will either be fake KFC, new pots and salad or some eggs, beans and SW chips

Im trying to get back into reading this year. I’ve pledged to do at least a half hour every day. I have a wee tin that I’m going to put £5 for every completed book in it. I love a thriller/crime book and I’ve just started the 4th book in the  Peter May series about Lewis. I’ve really enjoyed these.
I also have several recommended thrillers ready to start and take away on my holiday in feb/March courtesy of the charity shop - note to self - read what you buy before getting more!!

Back from shopping and picked up some YS pork chops.  There were 4 in the pack so 2 have gone into the freezer and we'll have the other 2 tonight with some new potatoes and veg.  That will be 3.5 Swips for some butter on the new potatoes!

I also bought a Kg pack of chicken thighs but they're still in the fridge to deal with this afternoon.  They'll probably be enough for 3-4 meals (depending on how many there are in the pack - I haven't actually counted them yet).  Of course they'll need trimming before freezing.

Also picked up a YS cannon of lamb - never cooked one of these before but it is very lean so hope I can do it justice when I do cook it!  Not a cheap meal but hopefully they'll be enough for 2 meals for the 2 of us which makes it much more reasonable per meal.

At least I've made a start of meat for next month, along with what is already in the freezer.  Meal plan will be started next week filling in with the meals I already had so I'll know what else I'll need to buy.

I finished the overnight oats for my breakfast this morning. Hm broccoli, potato and Stilton soup for dinner and hm spag Bol for tea.
I went to a hypnotherapist a couple of years ago and it did make me rethink quite a few things…..however I stopped listening to the tapes so didn’t really get the full benefit. I’m not fully convinced it’ll do any good but the tapes are very relaxing. Anyway I’ve started listening to the tapes again. One of the things that keeps coming up on the tape is that your body doesn’t need sugar every day…..watch this space. The trouble is getting an uninterrupted half hour  as I didn’t tell Dh I’d been 🫣 He is very sceptical about such things and tbh i didnt want all the joking about it. It certainly won’t do any harm to listen to them. I couldn’t sleep last night so came down at 1 am…..put the washer and drier on to make the most of the overnight cheap electricity and listened to a tape,,,,,went back to bed and nodded straight off 😀

It's grey and damp here today too but dry enough to get out for a walk this morning. I went to the hairdressers straight afterwards so wasn't bothered if the weather messed it up.

You're a whizz with the monthly meal planning @joedenise. I've always done just a week of dinners at a time so would find it hard to change my habits.

I have to confess to buying skinless, boneless chicken thighs. It's not very mse I know. Lately, I've been using some YS chicken pieces for casseroles so could just buy whole thighs and chop them up as the meat is very tasty.

I'd say 'if it works don't knock it' about the hypnotherapy @milann. If it helps you break a habit then that's fine. So many things are psychological anyway.

Hope it is something so simple and cheap with the car @Coxy11

I'm an avid reader on holiday @Matron_Midge but hopeless at home. I joined a book club at the local library for that reason a couple of years ago which helps although we do read some weird stuff. It's amazing what gets nominated for prizes.

Great news is that I lost another 2lbs today. 😁 That's just 2.5 lbs left to take me back to target range. I don't have a straight week again until into February so I'll just keep doing my best.

Today I've had porridge and fruit for breakfast, a JP with beans and salad for lunch. We're out this evening so will just choose wisely if I can. 🤞

    Great loss @maman x.

Good idea about the £5 per book @Matron_Midge that’ll soon mount up x

That hypnotherapy sounds good @milann - not like you’re making your DH listen to it!!

Car is more than a fuse - looks like a £350 part with DH fitting it. I’m off to yoga to breathe very deeply 🙄

    Evening all 😁

DH update, he went online again this morning and found another part to get an appointment, what a bloody palaver!! Anyway filled it in,saying he had a prostatectomy in May and his cancer nurse had rang and said he was overdue a PSA test,  said he didn't really need an appointment just needed a link to the book the blood test. Half hr later the link came 👏 bad news is can't get a blood test till 5th Feb 🤣 but he will keep looking to see if an earlier date comes up.
