Back from the allotment and harvested some beetroot, a little cavelo Nero, courgettes and green peppers. Have cooked the beetroot and had one with my lunchtime salad.
Dinner plan is slightly different - will have veg couscous with courgette and cavelo nero instead of salad. Will need to share 4 skewers between 4 of us bits that’s okay.
Feeling stuffed from lunch but hoping to work it off in the garden this afternoon.Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2026 founding member 😊 Read 26 books in 2026 15/26 Currently

Fabulous @beanielou 🎉🎉
Two off this morning so I’m a happy bunny. Now just to repeat that next week 🤞
Cooking is going well - ham ready for tomorrow’s dinner, meatballs made and in freezer, bolognaise cooling to be portioned up, chilli cooking away.
I had a banana and coffee in group, picked up some more fruit before dropping DS2 at the station, he’s off to Edinburgh for the rugby, I was starving when I got in so toasted a Warburtons flatbread and had Turkey slices and salad on it (1.5 swips for salad cream), finished off with a bowl of strawberries, raspberries and chopped nectarine with Kvarg 0.5 swips.
Dinner is FB Mo’s bacon and mushroom pasta using the spreadable chilli cheese. New to me but her other recipes are good so 🤞. Now off to wash the car for some body magic.

Well done on your losses @Jellybaby and @bubbs.
Have you got a spare pair of glasses @bubbs? Are they repairable or beyond repair. Very expensive if you need to replace them especially just before your holiday.
I've got the gammon in the SC at the moment but we won't be eating it until tomorrow. Will be using the veg it's being cooked with as the basis for some gravy (for DH!). Will cook the mince tomorrow in the SC and then portion and make a couple of cottage pies; add some chilli & kidney beans for chilli and tin toms & Italian herbs for bolognaise. At least that will be a few easy meals in the freezer. I bought a second gammon joint as the butcher had them on offer at £4.99 each - average weight 4lb so a good buy. I also bought some sirloin steaks as they were also on offer and steaks were on my list - they were £23 for 8 decent sized steaks so not a bad price but still better value than from Tescos as their steaks are tiny for a similar price.

Glad you've got a spare pair. Did you get them from an opticians? If so take them back and get them repaired by them as they should last a good while and if they're fairly new then they're not fit for purpose. May even be entitled to a replacement pair as long as you didn't do something daft like sitting on them!

Well done on the losses @bubbs and @Jellybaby . Great feeling! 👏👏👏
And well done on the size 12 @beanielou .👍
You've done really well on the batch cooking @joedenise and @Jellybaby .👍 I've redone my freezer inventory today so I know exactly what I've got in there. I try to keep it up to date but I'm not always good at crossing things off.
I've taken out the meat for tomorrow and some mince to make Bolognese, so that's a start.
Shame about the glasses @bubbs .How did it happen? 🤔
Today's plan -
B- porridge (fibre), milk (calcium 1), strawberries, blueberries (S), banana (F)
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), salad (S)
D Tom Kerridge bacon and broccoli pasta (P, F, S), Parmesan (calcium 2)
Swips - weekend wine 😁

Well done @Jellybaby and @bubbs x
So annoying about your specs @bubbs 😢
I saw that recipe @Jellybaby - sounds lush. Do let me know what it’s like 🙏
I remembered we had a gammon joint in the freezer (thanks @joedenise ) so that’s out defrosting for tomorrow.
I grated two courgettes and stir fried them with the caverlo Nero. It was so tasty 😋Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2026 founding member 😊 Read 26 books in 2026 15/26 Currently
