I haven't bought new clothes for ages. Like you say, I prefer to have them worn in and softer, although I do give them a good clean as I'm sensitive to washing powder, so I have to wash with a special washing liquid before wearing anything. The only things I buy new are slippers and underwear. Any new clothing items are gifts which are either handy for future use or useless, so I sell them on when I can, pass them on, or give them to charity. I can't be getting cluttered up with useless items 😂🤣.

Since taking up crocheting, I have been making my own slippers, so I didn't even think of those. I get a free pair of shoes every year as part of my medical plan for diabetics. I just got fitted for the next pair. So I never think of shopping for shoes either. I want to learn to make a short-sleeved sweater, but I am not sure what yarn to make it soft enough.

Friday started as a dull overcast day with a forecast high of 21°C (feeling 3° colder due to a W wind) & a low of 15°C The window cleaners turned up today so no doubt it will rain later* 😉 Recycling wheelie bin still not emptied ☹️ I wrote a small shopping list (as DH & I are off to Scotland on Monday for our annual RBR trip) so DSis will be fending for herself. *update the dark clouds have been replaced by white ones & there is some blue sky & sunshine 😊 DH & DSis got back 15:15 - all groceries put away. From 16:30 it turned into a lovely sunny day although very breezy. Dinner was quiche & boiled new potatoes for DSis, whilst DH & I had see bass fillets, boiled new potatoes & peas. Wudupa.

Morning all.
I will be off out to town this morning for cash. Then I will get a bus to the shopping centre. I don't like going there on a Saturday because it is busy but something may crop up to stop me going there on Monday.
Dizzycap - sorry to hear you are in so much pain. You didn't mention babyface - is she okay?

Morning all. Weather is brightening up now - it was very grey at 7am. I had a good nights sleep and even Sox decided to sleep in until 7 instead of his usual 5. I have opened some windows so he is happy as he can wander in and out. I did a 15 minute session which involved examining the condiments and jams shelf (several items went out) and filling some storage jars. Message this morning from very distant relative on the A site (we share 4 x great grandparents) so I have sent her my email so we can exchange info directly if she is happy with that. She is in Las Vegas.
Planning to stay in and do jobs today. It is only 4 weeks until we go to Crete. I seem to have had a lot of holidays this year already and have decluttered money.

@Willowtree222 Thank you for sharing, I don;t think that I am clever enough to mark exam papers, but was very intrigued as to how one would start, It always seemed like a secret organisation to me 🤣
@weenancyinAmerica could you buy some baby yarn to make your top? I know that some of them are soft to begin with but others soften after washing.
I have accepted on behalf of my workplace a (very) large amount of coloured yarns and I will be using it to teach the children how to latch hook (and possibly a few staff members too) I'm always surprised that adults don't know how to do this but, I was taught to rag rug at an early age and have taught my children and their friends and even my grandchildren. Different times I suppose.
Sending kind thoughts to all

@Dizzycap so sorry to hear of your persistent pain. Hopefully they can get on top of it for you.
@Florenceem "I don't like going there on a Saturday because it is busy" took me right back to Uni days. I was in a large city and when I went in on a Saturday I hated it because you'd get swept along in the big crowds, and at 5' 2" all I could see was shoulders in front of me!
Intend to do so more weeding today.

i forgot … we have summer parties in our garden. Normally 60 to 80 people. This year is a special birthday for my step son. He isn’t certain who is definitely coming but we think about 100 people. We have had 170 at our busiest one. That was funny. We just make lots of chili and keep it in slow cookers. Anyway we have lots of chairs and cushions for people to use. The cushions were not very plump so I opened them up and added stuffing from some old pillows and actually put whole small cushions in some of them. So i now only have one small orphan cushion and a bit of stuffing left from the pillow. Probably 10 pillows and cushions used up. Now have a wall of cushions in our beer shed.
Perhaps more fun is our piano bar that i upcycled a few years ago. It got wet at a previous party so I have had to repair the hinge for the lid. We have a prosecco machine that we put on it. The prosecco machine dispenses prosecco through a tap.

@Green_hopeful that's what I call entertaining.
@Dizzycap so sorry to hear about your pain and do hope it improves as quickly as possible. And hugs to others poorly or overwhelmed.
Don't think I counted 3 batteries out , trousers and glasses case ( maybe counted that but lots I forget) , unsubscribed and some digital, 2 books and packaging, large cardboard box picked up my neighbour which saves me keeping. Another 11 to add.
Mrs SD dd2 def grown in confidence and responsibility!
Off to family party and left cards behind ( so remain in my stash.
Proud of myself as started using my posh chopping board rather than keep for best! Yes even kitchen things can be kept for best or that never to happen event, and wearing trews and top that I had to kept the labels ofd despite being bought Jan sales and last year in the cs that gets seconds!
Hope people.can enjoy the sunshine if you have some and I will sneak some homemade cakes from the party into the tlc carriage along with a large pot of tea and a bottle of gin!

I fed the birds on the way to town - that pie I made which wasn't a success.
Very long queue in Nationwid. but I needed cash. I wanted some £5 notes but the cashier only had one so asked her colleague who also didn't have any.
I took donations to the charity shop.
I got paint which was heavy in my shopping trolley then found 2 lampshades for the landing and stairs.
Going to have a late lunch and then look for stuffing for gnomes.
