Been another far too busy week at work. Need to do less next week as it's starting to make me feel ill. My parents and sister are visiting today, so I am catching up on some jobs and tidying before they get here. The charity donation box I keep in the cupboard upstairs was overflowing (mainly with kids clothes outgrown and random stuff of DH's he's been putting in there), so I sorted them into donation bags to go.
I've started scanning the contents of any drawer/cupboard I open in the day to ask myself if I use anything in there. Still looking to use up/get rid of something everyday and it's just a good reminder to keep things moving. DS is trying to do something similar I think, but he finds it hard to get rid of things and he just likes stuff. However, I found a big pile of things outside his room for me to sort out and anything out of there including rubbish or paper I think is a win! Plus this wasn't preempted by me, although I think he has been thinking about me saying his room was a bit overwhelming and that if he doesn't use or enjoy the things he has because he has too much, then there's no point in having them.
I may be back later depending on where I get to… right now I need to get dressed and put away all the clean clothes!

Back from Church. Called into the charity shop but didn't find the knitting pattern. I have ordered one now.
Bestie took my bags of donations and the sewing machine that had been sitting in the porch for ages.
When I arrived home to my empty porch - it wasn't - there was a black sack in there - puzzles. I think they are from my niece - my sister asked me if I wanted them for the charity shop.
Made a pot of tea and doing something to eat.
This afternoon I am going to go in the craft storage room and tidy it so I can get stuff from the guest bedroom in there. Bestie wants before and after photos.

DSis and I decluttered a further 100l of bark chippings into the front garden! I am not looking at the doorbell camera footage, as at one point, I was on all fours, crawling under the privet hedge to spread said chippings. However, the front garden should now be in maintenance mode for the foreseeable future (easier said than done in the middle of summer).
Tackled the back garden ‘a bit’ too. The garden waste bin is now full and not being emptied until Friday.DSis and I had a rummage in the shed and have found some bits for repurposing/leaving/Vinted-ing also found some plastic popper wallets to organise some of my paperwork that is staying and going in the new box file
Lunch, chicken salad, has been made and eaten. It was delicious.
I still haven’t done the Vinted listings but I shall lever myself off the sofa and sort those next…..✒️ Declutter 2026 🏅 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅)

Decluttered the top drawer of the sideboard. Used 3 slim lidded boxes to corral my pens and put all the pens I won’t use in a pencil case and into charity bag.
All the washing is done and dried thanks to that nice man upstairs who has given some lovely drying weather this weekend. I haven’t don’t the ironing yet, there’s not a lot so I should clear that tomorrow.
DH is not well, bless him. He suffers with vestibular neuritis and it makes him feel very unwell when he gets an attack of it poor love. Hope he feels better tomorrow.
Dinner was only me so just freezer pizza and AF chips.Have a good evening all, sweet dreams xx

Pottering sort of day with my 11 year old assistant but lovely Sunday afternoon roast at DS2s. DGS4 wanted to do jobs to earn money for football stickers so he did quite a few under supervision from me (the grass cutting!) and some on his own. He vacuumed through, mopped kitchen floor and tidied up through the house. He's watching football at his dads but coming here to sleep so he doesn't have to get up at 7am.
593 All cards written and most posted for June - there are 8 birthdays in July. Stamps bought.
594 Card box sorted through - a few battered non sticky envelopes recycled. I really only have Easter cards and blank envelopes in there - enough to last me for life.
595 Old birthday book of my mothers found mostly unused - a few pages put in my Family history box but the rest can be used up as a desk notebook
595 Worcester sauce (2nd unopened bottle) and a cabbage to DS2s
596 The rest of the pebbles rescued from DS2's garden laid on the new driveway path.
597 Signed on at the local authority swimming pools
598 Postcard of genealogy interest mailed to a person in France and lots of family history info sent to lady in Las Vegas.
599-600 Two 15 minutes activity sessions - pantry cupboard emptied out and rearranged - a few items binned and top kitchen drawers tipped out and cleared of crumbs etc
601 Shed washed down ready for painting largely by DGS4 and we both needed a change of clothes afterwards. Sox kept a safe distance.
602 Small pond in large plastic box relocated to its new home. DGS4 rearranged all the stones - he was unfazed by the prospect of meeting a frog
603 Both lawns mowed by DGS4 with grandma supervising as mower has a cable. I ran over a few bits he missed
604 Weeds in recycling

Earlier DD wanted DS to help her declutter her room. DS was questioning some of the stuff she wanted to keep and said (with a straight face), “if you keep all this stuff, you’ll end up with a room like mine” 🤣

I did some sorting in the craft storage room. I have started a bag of donations for bestie. Also got a bag full in my shopping trolley for the charity shop in town. I will take it there tomorrow as I need to go out to buy milk.
Been sewing up knitting and watching You tube.
Decluttered - drawer sachet, paperwork, 6 stencils, yarn, plastic bag, birthday card, plate, 4 vintage hat pins, waste bin x 2, metal wall sign, green sack, 5 books, polo shirt, craft stickers, pack of laminating pouches, paper bag, file, post it notes pad, decoupage, bag of postage stamps, shirt, file inserts, empty paint tin, card, packs of card blanks. paper, bag of buttons

Straightened up the stuff for Ziffit in its ‘despatch box’ and brought that down from the landing along with the paperwork to unite it with the wallets and box file. Sorted all that whilst my phone charged as it had died the minute I tried listing on Vinted. One item in Vinted I’ll sort the rest tomorrow/Tuesday.

The block paving is finally weeded. My goodness its a dull job. I scraped each joint to get the moss and weeds out and then swept up the debris. I got barrow loads of debris. We have a lot of plants in pots around the edge and normally i pull them all out but this time i just tried to get the majority of the leaves out. Anyway its done. I only do it once a year but it takes a lot of time.
All the rain last week has caused the weeds to start growing in the gravel part of the driveway. I only weeded it at the beginning of May. Hey ho.
I also weeded and swept our little patio but that was 30 minutes not days.
