2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom
7. Target 2026 items out

Thursday continued: I dealt with yesterday’s & today’s mail. The recycling wheelie bin wasn’t emptied ☹️ but at least it is only a quarter full 🤞 Dinner was delicious 😋 Wudupa

979 - 983 Kitchen & office recycling, drinks cans, 0.5” paperwork, glass bottle - recycled

984 - 985 Kitchen detritus, 0.25” shredding - binned

Florenceem, hope you didn’t get too wet when you went out 🤞 It is hard to believe that we still need heating so far into the year ☹️ C seems to be living either on a different planet or in a different dimension 🤔 so I hope his latest text didn’t upset you too much 🙏   Hope you found a suitable WIP to complete 🤞More excellent  & eclectic decluttering 👏

Mrs SD , dd2 will have been away 11.5 months longer than most of her friends who went to the us / Europe.

Trying to tidy surface clutter but new CS bag started, 5 drinking glasses, glass bowl and glasses case in it. Paper and general debris recycle/ bin. Also 2 to textile recycling.

I am 5 pages behind in reading the thread. I will read back after breakfast. Finally, I have something to report as I feel like I have been treading water and not achieving much. Due to the very wet weather we have gone through a lot more historical paperwork and are filling another sack. Emptied two big file boxes. We had a (hollow) laugh at how small some of the bills used to be. Especially as our income is now a lot less, although the mortgage was expensive. We are still ploughing through parents’ stuff too which actually does feel neverending. We found some old building society books of ours and will need to follow up to make sure those accounts are closed down. It will be satisfying to tie up our loose ends. Outside work meant that I could fill up the garden waste bin with cut down stems, brambles and other pernicious weeds. Indoors a bit of spring cleaning in the kitchen by cleaning the oven, the pot stand and some grotty corners.
The fitted sheet on our king size twin mattress bed wore through in one place and ripped. I trimmed that side off, overlocked and then turned and stitched a single 1cm hem. It now fits one of the mattresses and I have put a single on the other one. It tucks under just fine and I like that I still have a nice soft sheet. Neither of us sleeps on the join anyway. I am pleased that I don’t have to buy another sheet and won’t have the old one cluttering a cupboard while I wonder what to do with it!
I enjoyed the Mini talk as I also had minis, classic and modern. There is nothing quite like tearing around in an old Mini though, being able to get it into any parking place and just really feeling the joy of it - let’s ignore the breakdowns!

There was not a single pause in the rain yesterday, today has started similar. I am itching to get the garden planted up.

I am off shortly to a plant nursery with my friend. Much cheaper than a garden centre, no cafe, no frills. I want some herbs. Mine seem to have all died off in their wait for their new position. Probably drowned!

Talking of paperwork has got me thinking. Ours is fine, the "office" is a plastic box which I go through regularly. Everything has it's own paper folder and I only keep 12 months correspondence. However we do have a big box of papers from Mr V's Mothers'. We have never needed to look at it. A rainy afternoon could be the time to go through it, and we are certainly not short of those.

Morning all.

I was woken in the early hours by severe pain. Fresh freezer pad and painkillers were needed. Stress can cause a LS flare. I have a Doctor's appointment next week.

Young J is not here yet - he is washing a neighbour's car.

I put all my waste cardboard out this morning for collection but if it is like last week - will be Monday.

I have started to cut up the huge bubble wrap bags that my chairs arrived in. Smaller pieces are more suitable for bestie's charity shop.

I did some knitting last night.

I don't plan to go out today but that could change.

I have a large laundry size bag of paperwork to sort through this morning.

After the freegler not turning up on Wednesday - the day she comes to my town - I told her I would give them to someone else - bestie said she could use them. The boxes went from my porch last night so at least they have left. I had a text from the freegler saying she had collected.

Morning all.

I have finally decluttered a large shopping bag of school uniform to one of the parents of the children I look after…it has taken so long to find someone who would like it. There must be almost £200 worth of uniform as it is school specific but it seems that some people are still a little wary of secondhand clothes, even if they were only worn a couple of times due to a late school change.

Raining here atm, the awful wet rain so not going to be mowing the lawn today.

Have just sorted and done a stock take of the freezer. Very little gone out but I have a much clearer vision of what we need to use up. I am hoping we can get to the end of the month th from stores mainly.

Also nearly cleared the ironing pile. I h e been crafting so much that the washing has piled up so into that today and then the ironing pile will be back where it started! 🤦 Sometimes it's just a vicious circle!

The bin men turned up today - day they are meant to so really pleased. I had a lot of cardboard from my new chairs and table.

Builder J phoned - could he do my shed today? What a cheek - it is a summer house! Anyway he has been and measured up and left here with a bundle of my cash. He is going to cut the stuff at his house to save mess at mine. There will still be bits of cutting and fitting to do.

Young J is here putting a second coat of Timeless on the landing/stairs walls.

I will need to get to town for more cash.

I have been sorting out stuff for the charity shop and the rubbish bin this morning.

Everything is online now, but I remember marking physical papers. My house would have stacks of papers in varying states of being marked.

Thankfully, I just need a laptop now!
