@BlueJ94 I am so glad that I wasn't the first one to mention the C word! I love making myself a get ahead food hamper, I usually forget what is in there so it's a real treasure trove come December. The adult DC's love it too as they usually raid it for bits which they know that I will have put in there with them in mind.

I also got some Lego sets in a sale to put in the C cupboard, over £100 spent but six sets bought for specific people. Next on the list of presents to buy are specific solar lights for each family group in memory of a loved one. Hoping to pick them up tomorrow.

I am still decuttering too, the C stuff coming in doesn't count in my head as it's only here for a visit 🤣

J went to borrow a ladder from Granddad - I have steps but no ladder.

While N fitted the blind J put the table together - very pleased with it. Just right to put a coaster and mug of tea on when I am sitting in my new chair. My blind goes so well with the feature wall colour. Still got the lamp to assemble.

J will put the stair rails back when he has finished painting. It was a large area to paint today. J will be back on Friday.

I had sent a message to the officer C to say that I will count but don't want to discuss where I worship or my loss. It had been 11 weeks but there were only 4 weeks to count. I said nothing and started to count when I was ambushed by C asking me about returning to worship there. Then he said he had been told by trusted people that I had left the corps - I had never said that and told him to inform these people of that. C continued to press me with questions and I was trying to control myself but could feel tears running down my face.

When I had finished counting I asked about the other 7 weeks - he had counted with someone - I am the corps treasurer so felt undermined. I sobbed all the way home and rang my bestie who came straight to see me, bestie had been concerned that C might ambush me and was right.

So I have made the decision to get a transfer to the corps I have attended since I lost Mr F.

I am not usually a crier but losing Mr F has broke me.

I will be writing a complaint to the divisional mission officer and to the divisional commanding officer.

The rug I bought for my craft room arrived and has two faults. I took photos and phoned the company. Chap said he would issue a refund and was I willing to dispose of the rug. I told him that I don't want a refund - I want a replacement rug so that is coming by Saturday.

I didn't go out anywhere apart from to SA today. I did sort out some bags of stuff - found vintage hat pins and brooches which can go to bestie's charity shop. I do have stuff ready in my trolley for the charity shop so may walk into town to the charity shop and declutter some money in the blinds shop.

Heard that another of our banks is closing this will be the fourth one in our town.

Decluttered - polo shirt, cardboard boxes, hairbrush, trousers, pyjama jacket, picture hook, baby knitteds, long sleeve top, pearl necklace in a box, ear plugs, zip, polystyrene, gift bag, bag of buttons, vintage brooches, vintage hat pins, pack of envelopes, silver chain, vintage sewing kit, bag of haberdashery, pendant in a box, wipes, sterling silver brooch in a box, box of buttons and a tie pin in a box.

Been a funny day today. Started bright, poured with rain and then bright again. This weather has been so weird.

Thought my sister must be rather busy as she hadn’t replied to a text I sent. Turns out she was in hospital after having a heart attack🙀She had a balloon (?) and now has drugs, she’s home so fingers crossed she continues to improve.

Bought the water based gloss for the stair rods and skirtings and also the spray paint for the radiator. I can just about manage to do those bits so I’m hoping that will keep the cost down for a man. Really all he has to do is paint the walls.
Decluttered some bits of an old whirligig washing line and some chicken wire.

Pottering sort of day really but at least I didn't go out and spend money. I do usually start collecting up odd things for Christmas stockings about now. I remembered I have decided not to do stockings for the adults but rather I am going to do a hamper of goodies for each pair. I will still do stockings for the 8 GCs although half of them will be technically be adults, as in over 18, this year. They all get money as well and that is covered by completing the 1p challenge.

Strange weather here but I did some random gardening sometimes in the rain. I must do some paperwork tomorrow. Children are back here after school. DD's electricity was off for 4 hours yesterday.

574-577 Pieces of garden work done a) rest of veg/fruit area dug over and weeded - I have space to plant something b) area beside back lawn where I plan to put pebbles and then a few large pots - the first of 4 shrub roots dug out c) front garden bed tidied alongside path and cut back to show all the path d) A clematis and a foxglove planted out

578 Tipped pegs out on work surface - lots of bits and pieces and a few broken pegs thrown out

suzeesu2000 - good to hear that your sister is recovering well. I don't want to climb ladders and paint now.I remember climbing up to paint a window frame when I was 8 months pregnant. My first husband did decorating until he was so drunk hanging wallpaper on the stairs that it was at an angle. Probably looked straight to him in his sozzled state. Mr F did not do any diy.

regnbue - I am sad at moving corps as there are some lovely people there. That's not to say the folk at my new corps aren't lovely - they are and very supportive of me in the time I have worshipped there.

When C said about going to count he asked if I had done outstanding finance training. I hadn't as concentrating on anything for long is difficult. Counting money is just so me though - no problem with doing that. I have now received emails since our meeting with training to complete. He obviously doesn't realise how he upset me this afternoon. I phoned a retired officer who was horrified at C's behaviour.

We had a bad long lasting storm with hail and heavy rain this afternoon. J put my bin up the drive so he doesn't have to get his mum to call here tomorrow. Someone had leant 2 big cardboard boxes against my bin. I never put cardboard out if there is a chance of it getting wet. The boxes are now in my porch.

The freegler who asked for my items didn't turn up. What is wrong with people - getting stuff free and they don't bother to collect..

GrannyKate - 7 of my grandchildren are now over 21 and earning apart from one who has global development delay. Now I only have my pension I am considering just giving gifts to the youngest 3. What are your thoughts and any one else's on this?

So sorry to hear of the continued disrespectful and insensitive behaviour of C, @Florenceem . A really difficult decision to move corps but it sounds as though a clean break is what you need. Absolutely provide feedback once you've made the move.

@suzeesu2000 what a shock for your sister (and for you). Although scary, a stent with a balloon in is as routine as heart surgery gets and has very good outcomes I understand. As excuses go for not replying to a text, it's definitely up there though!!

The weather is bonkers.It's a less than 2 weeks to the longest day and I had an electric blanket on at a point when I was cold during the night, a heated wheat pack at work, and a blanket for the relaxation part of yoga. I gather it's going to warm up again towards the weekend.

No ill effects from the very old couscous, luckily. I shall not be replacing it.
