Morning all.
Being collected by bestie to go to her corps for Open Garden's day in the village.
Wet here at the moment.
I had a good night. I was really tired when I went to bed. I nearly fell asleep downstairs while knitting. At least I won't fall out of the bucket chair - my swivel craft chair was not safe after taking medication.
I have decided that I need a small table next to my chair for a cup of tea. I may order one when I get home along with a mat for my craft room and a light for the lounge.

Thank you for mine and R's medals Mrs SD. I do tell people I have online friends but not how we know each other. How times have changed. Who would have thought it when we were younger. For me the group is like having pen friends or colleagues. I miss work for knowing colleagues. If fact I saw a picture on fb yesterday of some local monument and someone commented, I used to live there.Someone I worked with in the early 80's. I messaged her and we have been catching up the pat 40 years!
Liverpool Anne, the worst bit is done. It can only start to get better from now on.😘 Your poor friend and son. Not a life anyone would wish for. I hope things improve for them.x
I have bought a rabbit hutch off FB. Not getting a rabbit, it's for another one of my "good" ideas.
We had a day off yesterday and it seems I missed the best of the weather for the garden. Oribble and wet again here today. We are off to Sheffield shortly so perhaps the weather will be better when we get back. There are some plants that were put in in haste the other day that I want to move. There are also stepping stones and bricks that need digging in and more plants waiting to go in. Also who sells a rabbit hutch and not clean it out? That to do too. Mind it was very cheap.
The only things out are more of Mr V's holey socks. They were a pack and are all wearing out at the same time. I keep looking at my socks and pants.2 packs of each, all black. They have faded but still serviceable. They must be 3 or 4 years old. I wish they would start to wear out! I can't bring myself to replace them if they are still ok!
I am still to sort out the breakfast bar. Perhaps this afternoon if it's too wet for the garden.
Vx

How satisfying that dogwood stump must have been, @florianatwobob I have a picture of my dad, arms aloft, having got out the roots of a conifer bush in my front garden 🤗
Lovely cheerful chair @Florenceem
We've all had that hunt for something, @TC77. I need to find my replacement debit card in the room of doom … it's overcast today, so will be at the allotment tomorrow instead, and so I have no excuse …
I went to a concert at one of the local venues yesterday evening. The organist is well known and also is one of the organists at the Royal Albert Hall. It is an understatement to say she has an electronic organ. It essentially replicates the sounds of other organs which have been sampled into it. She had Salisbury Cathedral's sound (and echo acoustics) and one from Rotterdam, which had a very different tone. She has written organ pieces based on various film scores (Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean for example). It was fantastic. The sound was superb. The subwoofer speakers made your seat rumble at appropriate times, as they would in a real cathedral organ. There were also lights to make the visuals more interesting. And there was surprise proposal from an audience member to his girlfriend. 🥂
I do struggle with panic attacks, particularly in venues I am not familiar with. But I managed to keep on top of it and eventually relaxed enough to really enjoy myself.
Breakfast time now (belated!) and then out to a neighbour who is a jeweller and taking part in the local Open Studios.

@Yorkie1 getting that stump out was hugely satisfying. The extreme rain over the last couple of days was definitely working in my favour.
I was tempted to get DSis to take a picture of me with it in the style of ‘men with their fish’ but resisted 😂
The concert also sounds amazing 🤩✒️ Declutter 2026 🏅 🏅🏅

Been a busy productive type of week for me for a change. 2 tip runs during the week. A good tidy up in the garden with DH ensuring the recycle bins were filled. Got some decluttering of dads 78s records to a lovely man from Stafford. Went through the cabinet for some others and bringing tears to my eyes when seeing his writing on the sleeves. Reminding myself they were his memories and not mine. Weight lifted a bit. Sold a small table on MP.
The icing on the cake was that the plasterers were arriving on Thursday 4th finished Friday and the kitchen installation starts on Monday 8th. To say I am so happy about this is an understatement.
Have a good weekend all

I felt sorry for the gardeners who were taking part in the village event and had worked hard on their gardens - today was wet, cold and chilly. Not many people braved the weather. It is a two day event so hopefully tomorrow will be better weather.
I made teas and coffees but we weren't busy. Sold a few books and puzzles.

Evening all. Been another decent day. Shame about the weather at your event @Florenceem fingers crossed it’s better tomorrow.
Weatherwise it’s been wet and windy all day, such a contrast to Friday which was bright and sunny. When I’ve washed the floor, I wash the mop and put it on the hanging basket hooks on the lizard wall to dry. It was lovely and dry yesterday and I said to myself that I must bring that in. Did I bring it in? Oh well, at least it’s getting a good rinse!Today’s reset was to deal with the other side of the cooker. Everything removed, counter scrubbed, tiles cleaned you know what has to be done. Everything was washed before being put back, and DH, bless him, has actually been really good and not made a mess. Decluttered a bottle, 2 plastic tubs, a washing up brush and an almost empty hand sanitiser. Soap dish washed and in charity bag. While dinner was cooking, I sorted “the” kitchen drawer. Nothing Decluttered but the pens and oven liners moved to a new home. Much tidier now.
This evening, I went through my vest tops. They are in 2 baskets on shelves in the wardrobe. 4 are now in the pile to go on Vinted.
Pleased with what I’ve managed this week on the resets. Hope you’ve all enjoyed your day.Have a good night, sweet dreams xx

Wow Greent that's lots done!
@yorkie1 I generally assume things will turn up in a few days and tend not to be too worried about misleading things and take the view if I keep hold of 95% of things i'm doing well. ( not counting the high % which should go.)
Mrs SD hope the decorating is going well.
Vulpix, interested to hesr what you do with the rabbit hutch.
Dd1 came round , we went through the box of things i wanted to know if she'd like. She only chose my dad's zodiac mug ( she's the only one with the same star sign). Have a pile to decide if offering to dd2, cs etc but
2 pairs of tweezers binned
Blanket, 2 pairs of trousers, and teapot added to cs bag and dropped off.
Have some other clothes identified for action
I jacket sold, packaged and posted. Digital decluttering on phone and laptop.
Counting as 14
792
We decided to leave dd2's room alone as she doesn't like change but I have taken out things I was storing there.
@Floss, good idea on the pen front. We have our bank of things for school children where I donated before and dd2's closest friend is starting teacher training. I will look out what i'm clearly never going to use.
Identified more bedlineen to go but have to decide which. 5 duvet covers for the spare room so plan to keep 2 or maybe 3 sets as will also be back up for others.

Morning. I decided to take a day off gardening as it was dull and cold with showers. I was going to vacuum through then I decided to finish the horrible wall paper stripping in the hall (the half that isn't done - it's an L shape). It was mainly at the top, round door frames and along the skirting board. Took an unbelieveable 5 hours plus breaks. I have just one room (lounge) left with wallpaper. I am hoping it will not be as bad but not doing it yet. I moved all the tat in the hall as well and it is an open space waiting on builders and plumber now.
It dried up later in the day and I managed to get washing dry - I put towels in drier which was just as well as when I went into the small utility room behind garage DGD4 had left the small chest freezer open when she was in there early last week. Luckily it is packed and everything had stayed frozen. There is no water in utility room so only my drier and extra freezer in there and washing machine in kitchen.
I have restarted the diet with calorie counting. I need new batteries in my bathroom scales but can't undo the screw so will wait for DS2 to visit. They went to an outdoor event in Yorkshire yesterday - hope they didn't get too wet.
I think I'll do some early gardening and then some paperwork later. My mother always taught me not to do anything noisy before 10 on Sundays so I won't start yet. I have a proper meal planned for later - pork chops, green beans, carrot and new potatoes. The diet means I must get back to proper meal planning including using up the random stuff I have in the freezer.
557 All calendars, white board etc updated for June/July dates
558 General tat removed from bathroom and hall - put away or binned
559 Some drinks no-one likes emptied and bottles recycled plus food tin thrown away
560 Yet more cat food Sir Sox doesn't like boxed up for DD to take for her friend
561 Stripped wallpaper, swept/vacuumed it all up, unblocked vacuum! , rubbish in bin
There are two large piles of paper in my wardrobe - mostly old printouts of family history stuff - everything is on the computer now and I only really need to keep original documents of historical value and my booklets I have made up of different family branches. I may spend an hour now sorting through at least one pile for recycling. I am hoping that at some point DS2 or DD may get some framed pictures down from the loft for me so I can consider what to put in bedrooms 2 and 3 and the hall.
Sox has been in and out three times already today and its not even 7.30.
