Tuesday is currently a bright & sunny day with a forecast high of 17°C (feeling 4° colder due to a WSW wind) & a low of 9°C Last night we could smell burning but were unable to identify the source 🤔 This morning we found out that the Bermondsey Recycling Centre had caught fire 😱 The wind was strong enough to transport charred remains over a mile as we have found several pieces in our front garden 😦 DH dropped DSis off for her course & then picked up a loaf of bread & some sandwich fillings. DSis got back at 16:00. Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & tinned tomatoes.

Brambling, very kind of you to help your friend declutter 😊 Great decluttering of plants etc 👏 Love that you were bribed to stay - there are few things in the world better than baby cuddles 🥹
vulpix, it sounds like you had more fun in the old mini but the new mini was safer 😊 Excellent work in the garden 👏 although a shame about the plants that died ☹️ Not sure there is any cure for This “My name is Vulpix and I have a terracotta pot problem” 🙊 Good luck with your knitting 🍀
dND, This “I need to think what to do today otherwise I’ll waste the day dithering about making a decision.” describes me every day at the moment 😂
Florenceem, your Bestie & her husband are such wonderful people 🥹 Hopefully now that you have made your feelings known (in writing) to the Officer, he will realise that his pastoral care has been lacking 🙏
TC77, I was giggling as I was reading about the possibility of you having a spare dishwasher 🙊 Sorry 😔 Steady decluttering 👏 remember every little helps 😊
dND, what a beautiful sentiment 🥹
Florenceem, just goes to show how well loved MrF was 🥹 Well done finding the bells to complete your sewing project 👏
suzeesu2000, I remember those days 😊 I agree that it is very sad that youngsters no longer have such opportunities 😔 especially as nowadays most cars seem to be so reliant on electronics 😔 Excellent work reorganising your paperwork & family tree folders 👏 Depending on how many of the “big certificates” you have, could they be framed & hung up 🧐
Lovely to see you BlueJ94 👋 Those strawberries look very tasty 🤤 & all the better for being home grown 😊
My cheerleading mojo seems to be on the blink at the moment 😞 so I will pause here & try again later.

Sadly not @Mrs_Salad_Dodger I have a LOT and I wouldn’t want them in the light as they would fade. I feel very privileged to have the ancient documents that have been passed to me.
Moved all the revolting plastic bins that have been accumulating in the yard. Couldn’t shift the big dustbin an inch but Mr Muscles, AKA DH, came to the rescue and managed to jiggle it enough that all the stinky green water gushed over the yard and his feet! Once they are dry, the bins not DHs feet, I can start chopping them up apart from the dustbin which is going on freecycle.
Decluttered a ton of money as its monthly bill paying day. I don’t know how anyone copes with paying things on different days, I would end up very confused.Got a nice man coming over on Thursday to give me an idea of cost for him to paint the hall, stairs and landing. I have a budget and won’t go over it. I also have the paint. It is so frustrating when you are unable to physically do a job that you could once do without thinking. I will be able to spray paint the radiator though, I can manage that.
The weather here today has been a delight, cool and sunny. Dinner was HM cottage pie from freezer.Have a good night all, sweet dreams xx

It's been one of those days of sunshine and sharp showers!
@GrannyKate it's the right time of year to take lavender cuttings if you want to replace your existing plants with smaller ones. I may have to do the same with my lavender border in the front garden. It too is about 4' wide and woody in the middle!
@suzeesu2000 I got someone in to paint my hall, stairs and landing. There's no way I'm going up on a ladder or long pole over the top of the stairs. Best to be safe than sorry.
I found some old (best before end of some month in 2013!!) mediterranean couscous in the cupboard yesterday. Had some for tea with a nice tin of sardines. Whilst it wasn't musty, it had lost all taste. I can never get coucous to cook properly either, so I don't know why I bother buying it. Aspirations to something or other, perhaps! So I was brave and emptied the rest into the bin. It was interesting to note the mental struggle against the belief that I should use it up first, but it owed me nothing.

The weather has been spectaular today with hail and thunderstorms off and on. I did go out and got a few plants and a couple of house oddments. I also went to Iceland and got some chicken strips and chips which DGD4 asked for. Just enough room in freezer. Fell asleep again this afternoon. I was bad this morning as I had a scone, cream and jam at garden centre. Sox is very unhappy about the weather and was quite alarmed by the hail. DD in Midlands has had no electricity since 2 this afternoon.
I will try and do the paperwork tomorrow and some gardening if the weather allows. I may try taking some cuttings from the lavender. I filled up the last hanging basket and hung at front of the house. I also set out a few lobelia plants by my new little wall in front garden.
570 Plumber booked for first fix in hall so waiting for a date. I have asked him to service the boiler as well.
571 Two bags of plastic to SM
572 Ex recycling boxes returned to DS2 - hopefully they will come back with more stones for path
573 Random items of clothing, egg boxes etc to DS2's house

We loaded the IKEA wardrobes into the camper van yesterday and delivered to the homeless charity today. My step son brought over a lot more stuff and the maintenance manager from the homeless charity drove to our house to collect it. They took everything except a Christmas tree. They do such a good job. They have 16 houses that they use to house people. We can get in the garage of doom again. Yey.

@vulpix I do agree but the sales hype was that decades of paper could be dealt with by 15 mins a day within a couple of weeks. I could spend that long looking for the right documents!
Another 2 paint pots out, 9 cassettes, vintage item sold, packaging x 2 , some paper and did some organising. All wallpaper together- had been some under the dresser in the living room.
I've been out alot but have tomorrow at home for local errands and making more progress.

The thunder, lightening and hail continued for several hours.
The breakfast bar is clear, All the decorating stuff put in the kitchen cupboard with other tins of paint. There is a box under the breakfast bar with stuff for Mr V's attention. Hooks for the back of doors, bird boxes and a wind chime to mend etc. Plenty of stuff binned/ recycled.
I sorted out some stuff to take to DS' next week. Garden wire, knife sharpener block, a fancy gem stone for DGS stone collection. I will also gift DS a builders bag and a terracotta pot. There will be more things I am sure. Ah, weed membrane, and staple gun to add. I am going to make an old cot into a sand tray.
Adult scarf finally finished and an older childs jumper started.
I have arranged for the relatively new to me sofa to be collected by the hospice shop. I wanted to send the big rug too but Mr V likes it. It is going in the loft for a little holiday. We will just use 2 arm chairs for a bit. I don't seem to be able to get the sitting room furniture right.

Morning! Is it too early to mention the C word?!
I plan on meeting a friend after work today to pop into home bargains and to grab a coffee in the cafe there and also pop into b&m! I want to make a start on my Christmas food box.. anyone else do this? I only started it last year but started quite late. I'll explain for those who have no clue what im talking about 😀 basically you get a box cardboard or plastic either works and then you start grabbing some of your Christmas goodies and put them away for Christmas. Im going ti be focusing on jars/tins later today, ill check the dates etc and put them into said box and hide them away until December 1st. This way you're not having to big one big food shop nearer Christmas!

GrannyKate, you might not write any more but it is still very impressive 🤩 Love all your ideas for the garden - Capability Brown eat your heart out 😉 Good luck in your hunt for extra plates 🍀 Relieved to hear that Sox didn’t swallow the hearing aid battery 😮💨 I am putting in my request for a photo of your grandmother’s hat pin box as it sounds lovely 🙏
TC77, please remember all your past successes in tidying & decluttering 🙏 It sounds like you are still searching for the perfect combination of decluttering methods that satisfy you ☺️
Florenceem, young J certainly is a speedy worker 👏 He gets more done in a couple of hours than I get done in a week 😔 Please be careful when putting up your pictures 😊
vulpix, fingers crossed that the weather forecast is wrong 🤞The 15 minutes a day is such a tried & tested method that I really must get back to it 😔
Wednesday2000, great idea to try out & wear all your clothing before making a decision as to what items to declutter 👏 Good luck 🍀
vulpix, I imagine you thought the rain would stop quickly 😬 Hopefully you won’t get ill 🤞I like the idea of a book called “3 Mouse Night” 😊 Sounds like Sox is feeling neglected 😉
Excellent decluttering Florenceem 👏 & more excellent work by young J 🥳
suzeesu2000, those documents sound very special ☺️ Pleased to hear that you are waiting for bins to dry ready to chop up rather than your DH 🙊 Fingers crossed that the quote from the decorator is reasonable & in budget 🤞
Yorkie1, very brave of you to eat some of the best before 2013 couscous 😊 fingers crossed that you don’t have any gastric issues 🤞
Great decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Fingers crossed that your DD got her electricity supply back before it got too dark 🤞
Great decluttering QueenJess 👏 & pleased to hear that DS is spending some time each day trying to keep his room tidy 😊
Green_hopeful, yippee to delivering the wardrobes & having other items collected by the homeless charity 👏 A medal 🏅 is on its way. Sounds like a wonderful charity - doing great work 🥹
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 I would be sceptical too - no way would 15 minutes a day for a couple of weeks be enough time to clear decades of paperwork 😞
vulpix, well done on clearing the breakfast bar before it turned into a frog 👏 Love that you are decluttering so much stuff to your DS next week 😉😊
BlueJ94, you are late in mentioning the C word 🙊 there is a TV channel that has been showing C movies since the beginning of the month 😉 The C food box is a good idea 😊
Sleep tight everyone 😴
