Morning,
A wake up call for me. Awake 5.30, and did some tidying, and just after 6 realised I couldn't find my mobile, so more looking under piles and moving things around, Tried calling it but home phone didn't seem to connect then knocked router off its new place and no internet and realised I really need to be able to find my phone. Saved by the alarm on my phone going off at 7.50am. I'd placed on the bathroom bin which is under the sink!
DD1 coming round tomorrow and going to ask her for more help than just looking at the things I've set aside for her. Some papers out and 3 items in new CS bag. Definitely not setting an example to DD2 for when she comes back at the end of the month.

Just realised my early morning panic post was saved and not posted.
@QueenJess a good approach for your DD.
Mine is a young adult and had a part time job for years before uni so bought her own stock. In 6th form and gcse she got through a couple of pens a week so bought the boxes of 20 pens in different colours and I have my own stock and inherited my dad's. Interestingly late 1970s felt pens still work well. Apparently newer ones dry up quicker .
Found pack of pens for flip charts, at least 10 years old and work well. Flip chart paper the one sort of paper I don't have, graph, tracing , photo, cartridge, greaseproof in abundance 😀

@TC77 when I sorted my stationery stash, flip-chart pens went to my teacher brother along with white board markers. The stock of biros I used for work went to my SiL & neice.

I have finally succeeded in digging up and decluttering the dogwood stump! Garden trowel hiding there for scale.
I’ve been waging war on that for a couple of years but it has been stubborn and reluctant to give up its ground. My reward is below.

My craft room chair arrived. Delivery chap who brought the yellow chair yesterday - carried it into the house for me. Today's one said - he wasn't allowed to enter the house.
Very happy with my chair.
Dr daughter phoned - her latest blood test result was good so the cancer is being held off.
J hadn't arrived as he was waiting indoors for his sister's parcel of medication.
Builder J came and fitted the new door furniture
I walked into town - bought a new hairbrush as granddaughter said I needed a new one. Took trolley load of donations to the charity shop - asked for more donation bags - they have run out of them and can't put an order in until June 14 - not very encouraging for donors.
I was on the bus when I saw a message from J - did I want him to come round today or wait until Tuesday. He had offered to come round tomorrow but I will be out all day working for SA.
J arrived and made short work of the cardboard boxes and weeding the front garden. Then we moved furniture and he gave the door knobs a coat of paint.
Freegler asked for the carpet bits - it was an old school friend. J and I walked to her house to save her coming down to me. J carried the carpet bits under one arm!
About to take painkillers with a cup of tea.
My craft room chair and foot stool -

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger top pic is T shirt drawer after, I am being honest when I say I could not get anything else that drawer.
Bottom is cardigan drawer, long and short sleeves. I find a T shirt/top and cardigan to be plenty warm in winter
Sold four things on Vinted today too, 1 was from last nights listing and everything else I listed last night has been favourited.
3 tops are in charity bag plus 8 white board markers.
This morning I cleared one of the kitchen counters and cleaned everything to within an inch of its life.
Got all the ironing done while dinner was cooking.
Has been a really good day, hope everyone else’s day has been good too.
Have a good night all, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Hi all, been missing again sorry. The kitchen has been decluttered down to the brick except for the old gas cooker which the builders mates couldn't uncouple so left it, but the builder came around after they had gone and did it. I am working on a plan get it to the front of the house so I can get the council to remove it if some passing scrap collector doesn't take it 😁. The builder also lent me a dehumidifier which was kind. I am up to my ankles in dust everywhere, as fast as I wipe it down it's back 😂 but I am working my way steadily around the house using up the rags 😂. I was a bit miffed that they opened the door to the conservatory and everything out there is also covered in dust including the pile of clean laundry that OH had left there and I have no washing machine to sort it out. OH has moved to the other house but didn't take these clothes. I am going to put them on the line for a blow through and then bag them up to be put through the machine when it's reconnected, they will not be hand washed or taken to the bag wash by me. If OH needs them OH can sort it 😂. Ithink I will count the kitchen as 10. During the sorting before the builders arrived I did take a load of things to the charity shop and loads went into the bin or recycling and an old towel that missed the last cull was dropped off at the animal shelter.
The system for dealing with the washing up is working and the hand washing. I managed to find a bar of green household soap at the chandlers so very pleased with that 😁.
IIn other news I took a day off yesterday to see a friend who is having a really bad time coping with her son with mh issues. Such a shame as he is a really nice man but he has had a major blip and it will take a while for equilibrium to be restored meanwhile she is struggling. Luckily she had the sense to visit her gp and get some support for herself but it's a long road. She is going on holiday at the beginning of July and I have booked myself to spend some time with her son while she is away as he doesn't do well while he is on his own. Just hoping it doesn't clash with the builders coming back 🤔.
Rnight time for bed, still trying to catch up with all the posts, so hugs to anybody who would like one

Friday is a dull, dreary day - overcast with a high of 18°C (feeling 3° colder due to SW wind) & a low of 12°C DH & DSis are going shopping today, so I wrote a shortish shopping list. Groceries put away. After watching MotoGP practices, DH put an undercoat on the wall. Dinner was quiche & new potatoes for DSis, whilst DH & I had salmon fillets & new potatoes. Wudupa

Florenceem, pleased to hear that the summerhouse chair is comfy & hope that the craft room chair will be just as comfy (when it arrives) 😊 Also happy to hear that you had a pain free night 😊 Hopefully young J arrived & managed to get everything done & you managed your trip into town🤞
QueenJess, I do hope you are saving your DD’s masterpieces 😉
TC77, oops 😬 but pleased to hear that you found your mobile in the end ☺️ I am sure DD1 will be more than happy to help out, especially as it will be nice to surprise DD2 when she gets home 🥹 Loving the conversations about pens & not surprised that the old pens are better quality than the new ones 😉 It seems to me that more & more items have obsolescence built in 😔
Floss, always good to be able to find someone to take excess items 😊
florianatwobob, well done on winning the war with the dogwood stump 👏 a medal🏅 is on its way. That rhubarb looks wonderful 🤩
Florenceem, lovely looking chair 😊 A busy day all round for you & both Js 👏 Great news from your Dr daughter 🥹 Very kind of you & young J to deliver the carpet bits 😊 & how wonderful to reacquaint yourself with an old school friend ☺️
suzeesu2000, excellent work with both the T-shirts drawer & the cardigans drawer 👏 Also great work with the cleaning, ironing & the sales 👏 A busy & successful day 🤩

Morning all. Quite cool this morning and raining. I gardened most of the day yesterday apart from time off to do some paperwork. Pebble path alongside drive is almost finished. I got some lawn edging and recycled some large bricks from the back garden where needed. I'll post picture when its finished. DS2 is bringing more pebbles reclaimed from his garden but is doing other things this weekend. I went out last night to a quiz at a friend's church. Fundraising for the youth group. It was an enjoyable evening.
I need to do some cleaning and tidying today and finish off the paperwork I started yesterday.
551 Paperwork and committee papers sorted
552 Tool bag emptied and the few tools I have transferred to box which can be put on shelf. If no-one wants it I will take to CS shop
553 Path edging done and more weeds dug out
554 Large metal/plastic archway to nowhere dismantled. Need to break it up more to get in car or bin.
555 Small digging tool snapped in half so straight in the bin
556 Yet more overgrown shrubs cleared
