Thursday it rained between 06:30 & 08:30 but I didn’t hear it despite struggling to fall asleep. I got up & made myself a hot chocolate & dozed on the sofa. Happily the recycling wheelie bins were emptied this morning having been missed last week. The forecast is for a high of 17°C (feeling 5° colder due to a brisk SW wind) & a low of 13°C. Set to be overcast all day with a high chance of rain. It hammered down at 12:00 but only lasted 5 minutes. DSis’s 2nd session is today so DH is dropping her off then heading to Scre*fix to pick up a single plug socket (we have about a dozen double sockets ☹️) I am currently waiting for DH to return so I can let him in (he never takes house keys with him 😞) & then I can pop out to the bank.
Lovely cheerleading post MadamMim2013 👏 Thank you for my DH’s Gold Star ⭐️ but sadly I have done no decorating work so no star for me 😉
Florenceem, sorry to hear that you had a bad night 😔 Fingers crossed that the scrap man turns up early in the day 🤞
Lovely cheerleading post Moorviews ☺️ We are going for a new colour! I have been reading with interest about our fellow declutterati’s decorating & with all the talk of Timeless, I looked it up & decided to jump on the bandwagon 😉
Florenceem, pleased to hear that the scrap men turned up & took some extra bits 😊 I can see what you mean about the difference in colour 🤔
Green_hopeful, fingers crossed that it is a very long time before your next “spill day” 🤞
Brie, very pleased to hear that your finger will be OK 😮💨 Superglue is such a wonderful invention 😊
Soontobeoap, a very restrained ‘rant’ 😊 My thought on the thin packaging is that the manufacturers are in league with the makers of storage containers 🙊 I do admire you for reframing the quest for the missing parcel into a “treasure hunt” ☺️
suzeesu2000, our biblical rain lasted all of 15 minutes & today’s rain was all of 5 minutes. Excellent work clearing the job that you “absolutely hate with a passion” worthy of a medal 🏅 which is on its way.
Dizzycap, I know what you mean about dND’s garden - it is beautiful 😻
Great decluttering of admin work TC77 👏
oceanspirit, what a brilliant idea to have a colour coded master list 👏
Brambling, pleased to hear that ERNIE remembered you this month 😊 but a shame that you weren’t able to treat yourself 😞 Excellent work building up a pile for a Tip run 👏
Green_hopeful, I totally agree with your pet hate 😖 Perhaps you should hide the cheese until you want some 😉 Sounds like the college have organised the invigilating well 👏
I have caught up with yesterdays posts so will wish you all as good a day as possible & will see you later 👋

Thank you for the kind garden comments @GrannyKate, @Florenceem, @vulpix, @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, @MadamMim2013, @Moorviews, @Dizzycap, @TC77.
@GrannyKate What a lot of work! Gardening is all about chipping away, quite literally in your case. 🤣
@Florenceem I am exhausted just reading what you do. 😁
@Green_hopeful Your trip reminds me of DS1 coming over to pick me up when I moved back although I was a bit closer in Lot et Garonne. It sounds like you had quite a day but days like that do happen and usually at the most inopportune moments - I'm sure it will be a source of amusement when you've fully recovered.😁 Love your mum's cat.💕
@MadamMim2013 I was so pleased the acer survived the assault by the mini digger which reduced it by about half - the branches are very brittle and every time the bucket swung over more broke off. Mind you, I'm now planning a bit of light cloud pruning for it this winter!
@Moorviews Now that I've accepted that clearing the brambles is a multi-year job I'm finding it easier - even if it's not less painful; the thorns really hurt. Good luck with yours.
@Brie Phew, now look after yourself - I'm resisting the urge to use the finger wagging emoji.🤣🤣
@Soontobeoap I now decant most packets into glass jars if I can, partly because the packets tend to split but also because in France where it was warm - as our weather looks to be getting - I discovered that there were weevils that cut neat little holes through the plastic to get into the packets. It's a full time job reading Ts & Cs these days and so glad you could track down your parcel.
@Dizzycap I love your garden too. 🌸🌹🌼🌻
@TC77 Well done on the admin that's something I really need to do.
@vulpix We're still waiting for photos. 🤣 I feel for you with the crocosmia, It's pretty to look at but oh my goodness does it take over,
Today was knit and natter. I'm so glad I made the effort to go and find the group as it's so good to go and relax and have a laugh. I've stopped myself from feeling guilty about going because I used to feel that I should be here as there is so much work to be done and so much decluttering to be done.
It's been blowing a hooley here and as I was Whats4pping my friend just now, a play tent came up the road and blew into my front garden and started attacking the border. 😱 I've moved it back to the road side edge and weighted it down with a few stones so hopefully someone will retrieve it.
5 bags of garden waste have been decluttered to the kerb as well, ready for collection tomorrow and DS1 yesterday kindly transported my 7 bags of compost down some steps to behind the garage. I'll move them into the back garden at my leisure as I want to tidy up the part of the garden where I generally store them before this lot joins the other bags in the pile. Hopefully the wind will subside tomorrow and the weather improve so that work can commence. Tomorrow I'm taking a friend to a garden centre she uses but I've never been to, (health issues means she no longer drives). This could be dangerously expensive. 🤣🤣
Thank goodness notifications are back!
Hugs to those who want and love to you all. Dxx

thank you for the medal @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
Love that chair @Florenceem
Both dinner from freezer and fresh veggies from fridge.
Wish I had taken a “before” pic as I have made a seriously big space in my T shirt drawer. Just got to go through what I’m not keeping to decide where it’s going or if I have another use for it. I know I need some cloths for cleaning.
Got to go and get tea but might also do my cardigan drawer this evening.Have a lovely evening all, sweet dreams xx
