I volunteered Friday and Saturday and took in two big bags of books from my friends flat to Petworth yesterday, I could do with clearing some of mine next time I go!

I declutterred runner bean, courgette and cucumber plants to my sister this morning, I grew them for her in the green house. I a,so dropped off some jam jars for her. I had planned to come home and plant out mine but was easily bribed to stay with baby cuddles from my great nephew who is 7 months, he entertained us by his crawling attempts, he's not quite there but can move when he wants to usually backwards. His sister wanted a playmate so we built things with her magnetic tiles.

A little bit of garden was done when I got home as I noticed some brambles taking over in the corner of the front garden.

Just nipping in, you lot have been so busy, My first car was an old red mini, my last car was a new yellow mini which was lovely. No comparison, not remotely the same car. I used to bomb about in the old minis, loved them.They were rust buckets though. I had one you could see daylight through the floor. Just covered it with a mat!

I have also been gardening. The green bin is full and there is a builders bag of garden waste for the tip tomorrow. A few more plants dug up from the back garden planted in the front garden and a few brick stepping stones dug in. I have tidied all down the drive. I have so many pots which I brought from my previous house. Some plants I found will go in the front garden. Some I am waiting for which colour flower they will have before I plant them out. Some plants sadly have died in their wait to get in the ground.

I emptied the rabbit hutch, it was all clean hay thankfully. The making of my idea is not an immediate job. Mr V is fixing some chairs for me atm. They will be for my imaginary shed.

I am returning some pots back to the lady who gave me plants. I will be giving her 3 plants of mine which she said she would like. My friend has said she would like some ferns. I have a massive one in a pot she is welcome to or several smaller ones to choose from. I have some other plants which I will list on thrift. There are so many pots. I really don't remember buying them all. My name is Vulpix and I have a terracotta pot problem.

Happy Kitties, lets hope you can start to get properly better now. xx I am knitting an adult scarf . I will do more, trouble is adult size things take me much longer. I don't churn them out at the speed of kids sizes.😂

2. Sort out sleep patterns - initial targets: bed by 03:00, up by 10:30
3. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc.
4. Commence ‘Operation Financial Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
6. Plan & Execute ONE Major Project - 2026 New Bathroom

Sunday was a dull dark & chilly day with a high of 19°C (feeling 4° colder due to a brisk SW breeze), a low of 11° but no rain. DH spent the morning & early afternoon watching the MotoGP races & then painted the wall starting with the edges using a brush & then a roller for the rest. Dinner was roasted chicken in a bag with roast potatoes, carrots & Parmesan asparagus, mashed sweet potato & green beans 😋 After dinner DH put a second coat of paint on the wall. Wudupa

Excellent decluttering 2Scratters 👏 Especially impressed at your bravery in passing on your dad’s old 78s 🥹 A medal 🏅 is on its way as a reward for both the actual decluttering &  for reminding yourself that they were his memories, although I imagine it was still quite a difficult decision. Great news that your kitchen installation is starting tomorrow 🥳

Morning all.

dND - I said to my bestie that I was worried that after I had all the house decorated - would I feel what do I do now. I miss my Mr F so much but keeping busy helps at the moment. Bestie says - I will have a lovely clear area to craft and I can always volunteer at the charity shop.

GrannyKate - you have done a lot of work in your garden. I had ours paved front and back to rule out mowing the lawn for Mr F.

Bestie's husband has just delivered a pot of Kedgeree - she has done the same pastoral courses as the officer.

I have sent a reply text to the officer saying that meeting up to discuss how they can help me back to my old corps is not something I want to do. I don't know when or if I will want to. I said that I still want to count. When I spoke to C's superior officer yesterday - he said that I could still be treasurer while I healed from my loss. Obviously if I decide to move corps that I relinquish that leadership role.

I started sewing up the item I am knitting but can't find a bell - I have lots - somewhere. I will look in £land but they are usually sold in the run up to Christmas.

Dd1 was asking on our family chat ' do you have a dishwasher' which i thought was odd as she knows we have and then thought she may think I may have a spare one hoarded somewhere. She was asking dd2 if there was one at uni :) although dd1 said she wouldn't put it past me!

Out most of today but some packaging went to recycle and started rearranging kitchen stuff to give more work surface. Treated myself to a cherry wood chopping board and wondering if too big 50 x 30 but hoping I can make space and will encourage me to cook more. Meant to be gentle on knives etc.

Making a list for a focus hour of decluttering early evening.

@Florenceem I think that once you've finished you will have created a beautiful safe space to heal and then you can think about what you want to do/where you see yourself in the future. Think of it like a butterfly; the caterpillar beavers away and then pupates finally emerging as a beautiful butterfly. I always believe that opportunities are out there if you have the time and headspace to see them. ♥️

TC77 - my bestie is a very special person.

dND - thank you for that message.

I found a box of 72 bells in my craft storage room.

This morning I fed the birds and took donations to the charity shop.

I needed to buy smaller size trousers as mine were falling down and had no belt loops. Matala. had lots of large sizes in the plain black trousers that I wear with casual uniform. Eventually I found a pair of size 10 and they fitted well, bestie said that I may need an 8 but no way - my original trousers were a size 14.

When I was at the shopping centre I said hello to someone who said - what are you doing here on your own. She was shocked and I think embarrassed when I said that I lost Mr F in January. She said - you were so close - you must be devastated.

It started to rain so I arrived home wet, cold and hungry.

The special delivery letter that I missed on Saturday arrived - it was from an old friend who was a missionary. Mr F was best man at his wedding in 1977. I don't know how he heard about Mr F as I couldn't contact him or his sister.
