I had my J here this morning - he thought he was only going to be fitting back the door furniture. I showed him where the paint needed a second coat - bit that builder J fitted. When I went back in the room - J was giving a door a second coat as he thought it needed it. He was only here just over an hour. I will ask him to come here on Friday to help move furniture.
I put the shoe rack and my shopping trolley & bag in the kitchen so the hall was empty for the sofa men.
I was tracking them and it did say about phoning when they were an hour away. I got a call - we can't find you so I said if you are following the sat nav - I am not surprised - they were in the right road but not at my house. I had put 2 cones out to stop people parking but their lorry was too big to fit there. If I had put the cones further apart - it was likely that someone would have parked in the gap. My cones are back in the alley for another time.
Before the men arrived - I had a measure up in my craft room and decided that the sofa would be too big for the space. So I decided to have it put upstairs in the lounge. I had planned on buying a 2 seater sofa for the lounge as the furniture that I have is not enough.
The sofa is not the magenta colour that I thought it would be - it is more on the pink tone. I don't know if it was the flurescent lighting in the showroom when I chose the colour. I will pop into the store and have another look at the fabric swatch.
The men put the sofa in the space I had but it can't stay there as viewing tv on the wall would lead to neck strain. The chaise longue will have to go on the opposite side of the room to what I had planned because it is left facing when I uncovered it. The sofa and foot stool are covered up now and will stay so until the blind is fitted next week.
So I have had a day at home.
Lots of rain here overnight and some during the day.

dND - what a transformation in your garden. I haven't even got any pots of plants in my small garden. Too busy to do anything out there at the moment.
Dizzycap - good to hear from you.
After I decided where the sofa was going to live - I thought about something comfortable to sit on in my craft room. I have ordered a chair and a footstool - they won't take up anywhere near the space that the sofa would. While I was at it - spending money - I ordered a chair and footstool for the summer house. Lastly bought a colourful rug for the lounge.
I don't have my shopping trolley full yet for the charity shop. I am going to see what can go from the airing cupboard.
I have eaten the last of the risotto that my bestie made. I will look in the freezer and see what I fancy.

i made it back from the South of France. 11 hours getting down on Sunday, 12 hours travelling yesterday but only 7 hours today.
It was a comedy of spills. I put my reusable cup in my bag on the plane and spilled coffee over both of my tops I had brought and everything in the bag. I rinsed the tops with my water on the platform at the train station because I didn’t want it to dry. The security people at the airport opened my shampoo but didn’t close it properly. That spilled over my wash bag. Lesson learnt check before putting it back. Then yesterday my mums cat spilled his drinking water over me and my car seat. I had to turn my skirt around to let it dry. Fortunately that was pretty quick. Then the milk in our cool bag spilled. Fortunately the bag was on a puppy pad so most of the milk was contained in the bag but I had to wash the cool bag and the contents. The hotel room smelled pretty milky today. My mum then did the same with her coffee cup and spilled more cat water over her lap today.
I think my actual bag will have to go through the wash. Hey ho.
lovely picture of my mums cat watching cat TV on a previous trip.

@QueenJess very impressed your dd only has a pen pot and pots! I was going to post photosn of dd2's ( or part of it) collection as she did thin this out by 100 pens last year and still has pens and drawers full then thought v unfair and my pen and pencil collection would be equally large 😀
However one pen out, and yesterday some geraniums decluttered into proper pots, some paper out and garden waste .

Vulpix yes it's the same friend she decided during her six week trail period that she would need to stay in a care home but not that one unfortunately she needs local authority funding and they are extremely slow at finding her a place here in town, meanwhile every few days she changes her mind which is one of the reasons I stopped doing stuff in her flat. In a ideal world she wants to go home even if I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff but realistically she can't cope on her own and there a limits what her neighbour and I will do.
Once the inside work is done I've my eye on doing something with the back garden, just not sure what yet, but plenty of time to make my mind up. I was tempted in the garden centre today, sheltering from the thunderstorm and picked up three plants from their 'sad corner' £13 instead of £45 but they're for the front hoped now the soil is soften to plant them

dND, what a lovely job. Love your little porch too. I have bought fox gloves this year, they are not what I would call magnificent. My son has some self seeded in his wall and they are huge and stunning!
Green hopeful, what a trial by liquids! Lovely cat though.
Brambling, you are a very good friend. Difficult circumstances for you and your friend. Here's hoping a satisfactory solution will be found.
I did an hour this morning and half an hour tonight in the garden. I don't want to do myself a mischief by over stretching myself. I don't mind taking my time, I want to get the right balance. Sent Mr V to the lady for the gifted plants. He was only half an hour. When I went last time she talked for over an hour. Sadly the heavy rain forecast is now just light rain. I want a heavy downpour to wash all the stone dust off the plant leaves and wash the pebbles. So today the bird bath, sun dial and lily pot has been set up, 8 plants planted, an agapanthus re potted and placement of rose bushes decided. I have also decided to make more stepping stones with the left over reclaimed bricks.
How's the decorating Mrs SD?

Morning, waking far too early and to a v messy house. Donation hub won't collect so going to try another charity.
Trying to convince myself that i can keep things abit more managed and work out a better system as dining table cluttered and kitchen sides - how much is too much stuff and how much is being forgetful/ distracted sow while wokr hard to out things away 10% doesnt happen and builds up. Being more conscious about always taking stuff with me upstairs/ downstairs and into the right room!
Have this morning to focus....
