Morning all.
There is rain forecast for tomorrow. I think my sofa will be wrapped in plastic so won't get wet.
I have read the meters - think I will enter readings - can't remember if I was asked for them in May.

👋🏼 Morning..
Thankooooo @Mrs_Salad_Dodger For my 🥇.. I shall add it to my signature asap..☺️
Decluttered lots of time over the weekend doing DIY for MiL, as a result we now have lots of wood offcuts in the garage 🫣 still, once it’s been tidied we can make some small planters with the wood.. 🤞🏼Having a re-set day, getting bits organised and lists drawn up for things to be done..
Will move from the kitchen table when my carcass allows me (might have overdone things a bit.. body is being rebellious because of it 😣)
Sending hugs, sticks and spoons to anyone in need & have popped a summer fruits mousse with shortbread fingers to dip in the TLC carriage.. 💗

Not so much decluttering per se but more redistribution and I have managed to clear the dining room table. A few bits into recycling but mainly moving things to their correct homes. The fact that I could do that means that I must have made progress 😁
There are still a couple of heaps around of items I have still to assign a home but I can see them now so I can think about where they go. I frequently tell myself, that when I've unsuccessfully looked everywhere for where I think something is, it has to be where I think it isn't, (thank you Data, {TNG}). I mentioned this at my knitting group the other day and got an addition. If the item isn't where you first look, once you find it, put it there, as that's where you'll look for it in the future. 🤣
Once the weather came back to something I could take, I went back into the garden and started to tackle the next area of brambles. I'd realised that there was still very green bramble growth at the top of the hedge in 2 main places plus some of the branches I'd cut back were regrowing and ready for spraying,
I was determined to reach the light 🤣
And eventually got there.😁😁
I wasn't so pleased to see the pile of stuff that had been dumped there though. 😞 I gingerly opened the big bag in the front of that pile with fingers crossed there wasn't a body in there. 🤣🤣 It's an old carpet steamer by the look of it and the rest is what looks like at best bits from a couple of old lawn mowers and at worst the mowers themselves. The steamer I can get rid of at the local tip although the bag I can't and I've not delved into the rest of the heap - that will wait until I have DS1 here to help get it out of the hedge and down the 3ft bank into the garden. Dots are beginning to be joined.
Building work on the house is in the 2 steps forward and 1 step back stage. The Technical Surveyor came last week and agreed with me that the house is totally unsuitable for a heat pump: suspended floors, single glazing or blown double glazing and no suitable place for the heat pump which not only requires space for the physical pump but space behind it to vent air and 4ft or so in front of it as well!! I have nowhere for it that wouldn't block access to the house. So it's back to the drawing board to see if they have another idea. The good news is that solar panel are feasible.
So this frog is dormant at the moment and a couple of others are being tickled along.
Has anyone heard from @Dizzycap ?
Hugs to all who want and love to you all. Dxx

dND - not good that you have stuff to clear that has been dumped by someone.
Yes @Dizzycap has not posted for a while.
I went into town - forgot to take scraps for the birds - well it is seagulls who come down first when something is put out.
Got some cash and a packet of the stuff you use to deep clean dish washers and washing machines - been quite a time since I did that job.
MrsSD - bought more sweeties.
I unloaded my shopping trolley at the charity shop and got a bus to Lid.
Done some sorting of stuff in my craft room.
Been chatting with bestie about whether I should get a tv for the lounge. I will also want a dvd player. S asked me on Sunday if I had been watching the dvds he bought for me.
Left a message with youngest son who got the tv in my craft room about what I want. He was just off to football but will have a look when he gets home.
I tried to move the furniture in the lounge to see how much space there is as thinking of buying a two seater sofa. I couldn't move the sofa bed - much too heavy for me. Young J will be here tomorrow so will help me.

@Green_hopeful I hope that part 1 of your journey has been uneventful, and fingers crossed for tomorrow's.
@Brie ouch! Hope the hospital appointment went OK.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger good luck with the BB / landline switch. Mine went uneventfully a few weeks ago now.
@dND that's impressive brambling. Yes, I am finding that they are shooting away by inches, daily, on the allotment. It's interesting to hear the info about a heat pump and the issues with a house that has a suspended floor (I imagine many houses are similar).
Managed about 4 hours on the allotment, weeding, yesterday. I'm pleased with what I achieved, but I always have intentions to have achieved more. But I hit a wall with energy and my arm was hurting so had to pack it in. Will probably be next weekend before I can go down again (apart from watering the greenhouse), which is just as well and allows for recovery time. We're also due some rain this week, which will soften the soil too.

dND you are a trooper. Our inherited gardens seem very similar. Very overgrown with random stuff lurking in it. I had to resort to a man with a digger for the front garden as I would never ever have been able to dig out all the self seeded trees.
J has finished the front garden today. His skill and craftmanship is second to none. Every single piece of stone has been cut and shaped to fit. It looks like it is original to the house. It has rained on and off all day which is good as the soil is very dry. Another couple of days rain and I will start to plant up. I fear the garden will look very sparse for a year or 2. I am determined not to spend any more money on plants for this bit of the garden. We are now in his queue to make a start in the back garden, shed bases first, This won't be until later in the year. Our task in the meantime is to keep clearing the back garden of overgrown shrubs and random junk.
I have finished a lap blanket for Happy Kitties charity collection and I have started on an adult scarf.
What I haven't done is clear the breakfast bar. I will, perhaps Thursday when I have some free time.
Vx

@vulpix what are you hoping to plant in your front garden?
