London1.......so lovely to hear from you. You have certainly been missed. It's wonderful to hear that you are busy and sounds like you have a great social life but we have all missed your stories and updates on the family. Welcome back....and please don't stay away so long again !

Morning all!
On my seaside trips, I picked up little bits throughout the stays and am now making little memory boxes for the people I went with. Just waiting for the photo's to arrive and I will be able to pass them on.
I need to get a wriggle on with some more stuff out as I have let it slip with not being here but I definitely needed the time away to do a mental health reset, I had been very sad leading up to the breaks. Feeling much more settled in myself now.
Sending kind thoughts to all.

When i go up and down on the stairlift, I carry a bag of medical bits at the minute so have been using this bag to ferry extra bits up and down, no wonder it broke this week but is now working again!
Two Christmas shoeboxes completed, they were brought downstairs to the living room as much cooler and they have chocolate in them. Nearly finished the third but was too tired to do it last night.
Recycling wise
*Bags of soft plastics recycled at supermarket point x 3
*Same supermarket has a children’s plastic toy recycling point so 2 small Maccies toys that were saved for the shoeboxes but then decided not suitable popped in the recycling point.
*Tubes of old cream x 3, placed into recycling
*one cardboard Maccies toy- recycling
*battered small cardboard gift box-recycling
*Empty plastic container that had cutlery sets for shoeboxes, now used up-recycling
*Random bits of tissue paper and envelope found-recycling
*cake in a cup pack, only 3 years OOD-recycling
*Toiletry gift set that I’ve had for years, brought down to be broken down for recycling
*Another glut of cardboard put out for recycling, then we had the storms, which we had a day later than everyone else. The extra cardboard put out took a beating but we got it sorted and ready for recycling.

Must confess - the bits you can see beyond the frame are not mine! I share part of this allotment with some others 😁 My own allotment is the one with the smaller green greenhouse further away. There is a very fine crop of weeds there - must go down soon, now that the washing machine is finished and my church service (watching online) is almost done.

Shame you had to cancel your trip to Buxton Granny Kate. I think we are off to Louth next, we really like the town. We came very close to relocating to Lincolnshire, even viewing houses but lockdown scuppered our plans. We were about to start a business which would have stretched from the Humber to the Wash. I had put in a lot of research and leg work beforehand. NE Lincolnshire is a hidden gem.
Can anyone else recommend any hidden gems we should visit? Sadly I can't do a lot of walking these days but we are always up for a road trip.
Pleased to hear that you are just very busy with your new island life London1.
Impressive allotment Yorkie 1, even if you can't claim all the work.😂
Happy Kitties, I am pleased that you are getting back into your groove.xx Same for you surprisinglynice.xx
Just to say, I was learning a bit of Welsh, as you do and discovered the meaning of your name Mehefin.
Not much in the way of decluttering, just a couple of pairs of holey socks.
Shortly I am going to tidy the wardrobe in the spare room. With all our visitors and heatwave I have just shoved excess bedding in there. DD2 coming to stay tonight so need to make a bed up.
Tomorrow I will do some little frogs and put all the DIY stuff on the breakfast bar away. Away is yet to be decided.
Oh, the frog I have been pushing Mr V to eat has moved along. There was a letter from the solicitor waiting for us when we got home. As with most frogs it has been much quicker and easier than anticipated. I think it has taken about 4 years to nudge Mr V to deal with it.

Hi Chums ,thank you all for your lovely welcome back I'll try to be a bit more focussed and definitely grab 30 minutes to relax and find out what you have all been up to while I have been buzzing around.
It's all quiet here at the moment DD has gone swimming in Ryde ,the pool here has a roof they roll back in the summer so she's been making the most of her monthly pass her OH treated her to.
She decided to give up work a few months ago as she said there are plenty here on the island who need the job more than she does .
All the brood having grown and flown, there are only three of us here, so now she does things she really enjoys
One of which is swimming, which is very good for her knees (sadly her knees are not in the best state bless her) as she follows me with arthritis.
But she walks the dogs daily and swims at least three times a week plus an aquacise class.
I used to adore swimming my unfortunately my right arm doesn't work very well and I have lymphodema in it I tore the rotator cuff in my right shoulder in a fall as well, and because I had the lymph nodes removed on the right side when I had my mastectomy it isn't apparently a good idea to operate on that shoulder as it may set off something worse .
But I am happy to have the occasional paddle on the sandy beach at Appley which is about ten minutes down the road from where we live.
Simon my son-in-law has just brought me my morning coffee ,he's a good egg, and looks after me very well
All five of my DDs children are all grown up adults, and the eldest Katie is happyly married and has two little girls Erin, 8 and Ida, 6 they don't stay babies for long. Katie runs a respite home for autistic and disabled children in Kent ,and her OH is a train drive and they seem to be settled
Ben the elder son is as you know a teacher in north London. He has had several girlfriends and relationships but at the moment is footloose and fancy free.
His last G/F who I think he was quite keen on was a nice lass, but like most lassies, seem that they really don't fancy settling down. But they are still pals but she told him she just didn't want children at all.
Which is a shame as he so wants to settle and have a family .He will make a great dad when it happens as he loves kids and teaches year fives at primary school.
The next one down is our gentle Jack (even his brothers call him that as he was always the peacemaker growing up in a family of one girl and four lads)
He's a teacher as well at a boarding school in rural Kent and loves teaching
He also is looking for 'The One' :) He's met a few and when he was at Uni was with his g/f for almost 5 years .Sadly she decided that the grass ,or at least a chap she had met was a better bet ,which broke his heart as he adored her. But I'm sure somewhere there is the right one for him he's just not met her yet.
Then there is our Henry :) a 6'plus blonde adonis, and a lovely young man who is courting an equally lovely lass called Jade who bare is 5'1" and dark haired :) a tiny scrap of a thing compared to him.
They seem very happy together and he loves travelling, and likes to whisk her off for weekends to Europe Last trip they went on was a chilly weekend in Copenhagen which they both enjoyed
They are off to Thailand in October, and as she is half Thai and she is really looking forward to it He has been there before, and had only just returned a couple of weeks when he met her through friends and they are a great couple and he is like a big soft labradore and seems very smitten with his 'pocket rocket' as he calls her
He lives in Rochester, and works in the City as a merchant banker and is pretty settled
The last tail-ender is our Mikey, he has been courting a local lass in Colchester where he has been at Uni for the past 4 years. How they will sort themselves out out when he moves back at the end of June I don't know but I know he is looking to work in London so I doubt he will stay very long with us
I'm not sure yet what his plans are. It all depends on work really, but him and his girlfriend Aimee have been together about three years so we shall just have to see.
Well thats caught up with all the tribe. My eldest DD still lives in Kent as does her daughter Holly (the one getting wed next year ) and my eldest grandson Danny is still living in New York with his wife and their little girl Daisy who is 3 in July. The time just seems to fly by and I swear the older I get the quicker it goes :(
Life is good though, and the best thing I ever did was moving here and I have no regrets at all.
The family come down to see us regularly and we go to the mainland twice a year for a long weekend.
Even though I'm an octogenarian I am still pretty active and when I had my eye test a couple of weeks ago I did ask the optician was I still ok to drive and he said yes your eyes are in pretty good condition (he almost said for your age :) ) but bless him he just smiled and said no worries they are fine. :)
Well I can here noises in the other sitting room so it sounds like DD is back from her swim so I shall go and see how my little mermaid is doing :)
Take care everyone and what ever you are doing try to enjoy it :) :) :)
Cheers chums

I missed being able to say - good morning as I had to get ready to be collected for Church. Road closures all around the village so we had to take mystery detours. Still arrived in plenty of time. Bestie took the few bits that I had ready for the charity shop - we called in after the service.
Going to make a pot of tea and sew up some knitting pieces.
I plan to walk into town tomorrow with my loaded shopping trolley for the charity shop. Then I will get a bus to Lid. for some shopping.
Cooler here today.
Good to hear from JackieO.

Thank you for our medals Mrs SD. We have already let him know that we will rehome anything they don’t want they were the ones who donated the ikea furniture to the homeless charity. I think they like that it will be reused and its easier than trying to sell or freecycle because the charity come with a van.
I am now in france on the train across the Rivera to drive my mum back to the UK. Its 9 hours driving tomorrow and 6 hours on Tuesday. Not looking forward to the drive but French roads are easy to drive. The train has the best views of the coast. Would be lovely ti visit one day.
