I’ve just completed my first month on Freephase Dynamic.

We used 454.83kwh which cost £82.78 compared to £87.33 on Agile.

The above comparison is based on East Midlands region and with no Solar, Battery, EV or Heat Pump.

The difference seems to be largely accounted for by Dynamic being cheaper in 2 ways in the East Midlands.
                     1. Standing Charge is 5.5p lower.
                      2. Peak rate averaging 8p per kWh lower.

My family also find it much simpler and less hassle than Agile.
As a fellow East Midlands resident, and also someone with electric heating, this is interesting. I've been doing quite well on Agile to date, but I remember what things were like in Jan-Feb and have been looking at options to jump ship if wintry weather starts to bite. What proportion of your energy are you using at peak rate? This seems to be a large determinant of the saving based on what you've said. My own consumption in December is only 5% peak.

Out of 454.83kwh used 27.78kwh were at peak rate. Slightly more than 5% hope that helps.

Don’t forget Dynamic has a limit of 75per kWh not £1.

Day ahead prices are published at midday, which helps to plan, as opposed to 4:00pm

Don't forget, if you are on Agile you can use https://agilebuddy.uk/ to get an accurate comparison with this tariff.  In my case I'd have been about £1 better off in the time this has existed,  but there has been hardly any plunge prices in that time.  When Agile is negative and my immersions are on (primary reason for me being on Agile), agile seems to work out better for me.

Thanks, that was going to be my next question. I'm considering this just in case I am forced off Agile onto E7 by pricing like that seen last Jan and want to get back on TOU before my month is up.

Does EDF offer whole calendar month billing, paid via variable direct debit?
    Quick answer is yes.   https://www.edfenergy.com/help-support/direct-debit
FYI, while they do variable direct debit, unfortunately, it's not on the basis of whole calendar months.  :(
