Thank you everyone for the kind comments and advice x
Me and DH have decided to go for the 3 bed detached house if it is still available when we sell ours. We both agreed that we could picture ourselves living there and would be happy there. We did a bit of a costings list as well, working out an educted estimate of the mortgage, council tax,
gas/electric, water etc, so we could see what the rough monthly spend would be and I'm happy to report it is affordable with money left over for savings and small overpayments.
We are still tempted to have another look around dream house, mainly to rule it out. We believe the amount of work it will need doing to it just isn't worth it, especially when there are houses of a similar size albeit on a smaller plot, for less money.
We've agreed that if we cannot get the house we want, the bungalow will be next on the list. DH thinks it's just a bit old peopleish on that cul de sac, but would still be happy living there. I would be happy there too. I did really like it.
Now we just have to see what becomes of ours. The lady on Friday seemed really keen, but you just don't know, do you? Fingers crossed anyway 🤞Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. Mortgage Free November 2025!8 -
Don't forget that the old people moved there when they were younger and have stayed because they love it. Plus there will be natural turnover and in time you pair will be the old peopley element 😉 😆 🤣 😂

Well, its been a stressful 24hrs. Went back to office work yesterday and my throat started feeling all scratchy and difficult to swallow, ugh!
Then whilst heading to my cleaning job I got a phone call from the estate agent with an offer from the couple that came to view last Tuesday. It is a bit low so after talking to DH, I've gone back with a counter offer this morning and hoping they'll then meet us in the middle with what we would be happy to settle for 🤞
We then had a terrible night with Dog3 as she has a uti again. We've had tests and scans done previously, but they can't seem to find what's causing it. I took her out to the park at 1am, 2:30am and the 3:20am (can't wait to have a garden!!), so I'm absolutely shattered and have taken an emergency holiday day from work. DH then took her to the vet this morning and she now has antibiotics and two types of pain killer! He saw a different vet this time who says that although she is on a special urinary diet, there are different types of urinary food and she may very well be on the wrong sort. She is now not allowed to have any other food apart from the one she's on and then we have to take a urine sample back to the vets in a couple of weeks to establish if it's helping or making her worse and then swap her to the correct one if needed. What a nightmare! I am annoyed that one of the other vets we've seen never made this suggestion. Poor dog 3 is feeling very sorry for herself, as am I!
On the plus side, we have an offer on the house within a couple of weeks and may well settle on a price today and then touch wood, my throat hasn't got any worse, I really don't want a cold right now!Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. Mortgage Free November 2025!9 -

Ugh, hope you manage to get some sleep today Jessy - that's a very rough night!Fingers crossed the offerers accept your counter offer (or a least know how to bargain - always amazes me when I'm selling something on Ebay and people will offer, I counter offer and they just accept - my counter offer is usually with the expectation that we'll meet in the middle!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
