As of this week, I am mortgage free! Unfortunately, that won't be for long.
I currently live with DH and our 3 dogs in a one bedroom semi-detached bungalow with no garden or parking. It's what I could afford on my own when I first moved in back in 2019, but now it's time for us to save and move up the ladder.
Ideally, we would like a 2/3 bedroom bungalow with a garden and a driveway. I'm 39 and DH is 41, so we would like to get the new place paid off by the time DH is 50.
Our budget is £220,000 and once the little bungalow that we are in now is sold, that will get rid of a nice chunk of the new mortgage.
Let's get to it!
P.S Here is the link to my previous diary where I paid off my little bungalow (with the help of DH of course!)

Right, so targets:
I am aiming to save £10,000 between now and June next year. It will be my 40th birthday at the end of June, so wouldn't buying a new place be the perfect 40th birthday present!
DH already has £9,000 in savings, but is looking to save another £10,000 as well, giving us £29,000 for a deposit, fees and everything else that goes with it.
It's ambitious, but I'm feeling motivated now the pesky little bungalow mortgage has gone.

It's good to have a goal, both for money and action. Hope you get your new home for your 40th!!
