Half the week done. Savings is at £400/£10,000. We get paid next Friday, so I'm looking forward to having a boost in savings of £1000+ £400 seems a bit pitiful at the moment 😅

Saving is hard, keep at what you are doing it will work out. It is different to knocking off a balance, be patient. £1400 what would that cover - quite a bit I would think, it is someones whole wages. You are doing great keep it upXX4

Well, the working week is done and now to the working weekend 🤣 Three cleaning jobs tomorrow morning and then I am done. Although then follows the house chores that need to be done.
I need to do a comparison for dog 2s insurance as the renewal has come in £170 more than last year 🙄 I also need to book a table for me and the work girls at the local Indian as we're going there week after next for a nice meal together and before work bestie starts her radiotherapy.
Savings is now £500/£10,000. Still looking forward to payday next Friday for a nice boost to that total. Nothing really changing with the houses/bungalows for sale at the moment and I don't think it will until after Christmas.Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. Mortgage Free November 2025!4 -

When looking at your £500 savings remember to add - thats pure savings, you have no mortgage!

Coming in late to the party (as usual for me!) I totally get the imposter syndrome - DH and I came from single parent council house families (actually, we lived in a flat) and both of us would have been considered below the poverty line in all senses. No heating other than a living room fire, electric and gas meters, every bit of furniture mismatched and hand me downs from others, running out of food by the end of the week with no choices in meals (I know that's why I have overstocked cupboards and freezers). I had one pair of Clarks shoes and I wore those to school and outside of school - I was not a trendsetter! 🤣
DH and I now have a large 5 bed, 4 reception room house which we paid off 10 years ago at 45, 6 figure sums in the bank, 2 nice (but not crazy expensive) cars, a motorhome, spare money, etc. (Sounds awfully boastful, but it's not) No one would ever guess our backgrounds (add in addicts for father/ stepfather) - I think when you look at childhood ACES (adverse childhood experiences) if you take the list of 10, we each have 8 - which is a crazy amount for anyone- statistically we should not live where we do, have been together almost 40 years, have well balanced children etc. However, we have worked hard for our children NOT to have the lives we did.
Back to houses - I'd look at 3 and 4, personally. Renovations are so crazy ££££ now - and almost always end up costing more than originally plannedI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £207 -
Out for hot chocolate with my boy ( don’t worry very mse, paid for with gift card I got for my birthday). Discussing dream houses as you do 🤣, showed him house 4.
