Eye surgery is done and was carried out yesterday morning. Thankfully, I only needed it on my left eye in the end which is good as I've got a pirate patch and only having the one eye to use has been bad enough cant imagine what it would have been like with both out of action! We were really early getting there so ended up having a coffee and cake in a nearby cafe before going in. Doctor and nurse attending to me were lovely. I was given several doses of numbing eye drops and then an injection of local anaesthetic into my eyelid (you might want to skip the next bit if you're squeamish!). My eyelid was then clamped and turned inside out, an incision was made and the cyst was then drained. It was pretty harrowing as not only could I feel it happening but I could see it! I was patched up, a few pirate jokes exchanged with the nurse and doctor and sent on my way with a recovery sheet and antibiotic ointment. Pretty pooped for the rest of the day. I'm still feeling tired today so called in sick to work. Work already knew that I would not be going back in for the rest of the week as the environment is too dusty, but I have my laptop at home to do some work, I was just too tired and sore to do any today. I was able to take my patch off for a bit this afternoon to put the ointment in, but a fresh one will go on before bed. I will see how I feel tomorrow and if im up for doing any work.
Received the £100 fair sharer from nationwide today and that has been overpaid to the mortgage so the new total is £188,653.29.
We've been chatting about getting another dog. We're not wanting to rush into anything, but a 12 week old sighthound puppy has been shown and offered to us by the rescue that we got dog 3 from. Very tempting! I am torn because she is absolutely beautiful but dog 1 was a whippet and part of me wants another whippet, but that would mean buying a puppy from a breeder, which a big part of me does not want to do! Lots to think about and DH is not helping as he is happy to have either 😩
I've been mortgage free once, so let's do it again!
Starting balance March 26 £191,274.535 -
Glad your eye surgery is done & went well. Having had eye surgeries I don’t envy you. I vote for no work for you this week. Get the rescue!

Another vote for the rescue puppy here (obvs from someone who will have none of the responsibility of looking after it 🤣) A whippet might remind you of Dog 1 too much and make you miss her more? *Clutches at straws*

Remember there’s no rush Jessy. A whippet rescue might come up in a few weeks/months when you’ve had a bit more time to process too.
Glad the surgery went well, but it does sound horrific having to watch it all!
