Seconding all the positive comments, you absolutely did all the right things. Little help to the professionals to have to administer to you both if you'd slipped or hurt you or her
Well done

Thank you all ❤️
Happy to report no further drama for the rest of the weekend! Office job and cleaning jobs have gone well so far this week. Payslip arrived today ready for going into the bank Friday and the payrise means an extra £50 a month, so that's good.
We ordered 2x bedside cabinets which have arrived today. DH has built one while I was out cleaning after work. Apparently the instructions said it would take 45 mins but took more like 1hr45mins 😅 He said some pilot holes weren't drilled so he had to do it and because they are solid wood it was a lot of work. I will make sure to leave them a star off for that when I do a review. Other than that really nice cabinet. Just need DH to build the second one! There's also a matching chest of drawers that I would like to get when we get paid. We then have matching drawers, cabinets and wardrobe in the bedroom and it's done. 🙂
Oh and £100 paid off the mortgage, so the new total is £189,999.72. I've given up trying to round down the total to a round number as it never seems to work! I have done another chart, printed it out and stuck it on our serving hatch, so we can start ticking boxes off!

A star indeed @Jessy103! As for the cupboard, we have a saying here: 'Easy self-assembly, beware'. Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx

Thanks Humdinger x
I have just purchased a matching chest of drawers so DH is not finished with the assembly nightmare yet 🤣
Office job done for the week and i have 2 cleaning jobs to do this morning and that will be cleaning job done for the week too. It's looking like it's going to be a lovely sunny day, so I will be doing some washing when I get home and putting that on the line and doing some gardening. The last owner left a pile of bricks around the back of one of the sheds, so im going to edge my border with them to keep it nice and tidy.
We also have a visitor! Boyo turned up yesterday and is staying until tomorrow before he heads back up to uni. His grandad did pay to have his car picked up from Leeds and brought back to Lowestoft to be fixed, so boyo is driving. His grandad obviously has more money than sense! Anyway, not my problem. My problem is having to feed boyo though and with us doing our shopping every other week, the cupboards are a little bare! 😅 DH did offer a chippy tea tonight which i am not going to say no to 😀
Payday was yesterday so money transferred to savings, which is now at £4k. Some of this is marked for a new fence, if my joiner brother ever gets round to measuring it up 🙄 I also paid another £100 off the mortgage, so the new total is £189,899.65. Again, it's taken off an extra 7p! I mean it works in my favour so that's nice but i just can't get my head around it!
Have a lovely day all x

He's been here twice within a month, daisy! He must like it 😅
A lovely day yesterday. After 3 hours of cleaning, I came home, we had some lunch and then I spent time in the garden. Most of it on my swing, but also started to put some of the bricks along the border as planned, but it was tough going as there were a lot of thick roots to cut back to do it. I also found a fire pit thing that again, the old owner had left behind. I gave it a good scrub and wash out, then I've put some gravel and pebbles in it with water for the birds.
Today we've had a steady morning and a mooch in a local garden centre. Got some treats for the dogs and a couple of nice plant pots. One is in the shape of a sheep which I could not resist!
Boyo is going back to uni this evening, so we'll just have a steady afternoon, I'll cook tea and he'll leave after that. Lots of washing has been dried on the line which makes me very happy!

Loving that you're loving the garden after so long hankering after your own space

Thanks Daisy x I used to love pottering around and growing plants in my old garden in Yorkshire, so now finally having a garden again is doing wonders for my mental health 🙂
Two days done at the office which have been very busy and a little stressful. Had to put my foot down today with a colleague who is renowned for throwing her weight around when she doesn't get her own way. Told her I have my work to do for M.D and if she doesn't let me do what I need to do, I will have to report her as a blocker. She did not like this, but tough, I've dealt with bullies before at work and i won't have it again! Cleaning jobs have been good and it's always nice to see my customers.
I have repotted my peace lily into a larger pot that I bought at the weekend and im hoping it will now start to flower again. I've done a load of white washing, which is now drying on the airer and also tackled a stain on the living room carpet that has been bugging me since we moved in. Now to take the dogs out and get into to bed and read my book.
Oh, I'm also happy to report that the birds have been using their new bird bath! 😀

Office job finished Wednesday and then we took Dog 1 to the vets for her booster. We've also booked her in for a dental at the beginning of June as she is nearly 12 and her teeth need some proper tlc that our brushing can no longer do. Quote for this work is £517 as she may have to have a few teeth out, bless her! Of course this will not be covered by her ridiculously expensive insurance (ridiculously expensive due to her age) as it is seen as maintenance. Oh well, she's worth every penny!
Thursday, me and DH had the day off work as it was time for my trip to the eye surgeon at the city hospital. My appointment was at 11:20, we ended up getting there at 10:30, as we were worried about getting there, parking and then finding the right clinic. We were happy we had done that in the end, as we were back in the car and on our way home by 11:15!! I do need a procedure to drain my blocked eyelid glands but this is something our GP should be able to do, but if not we will have to go back there for me to have it done. A little annoying as the GP was the one who referred me to the hospital in the first place! Why didn't they just drain it if they could do it the whole time?! All i can think is either they can't do it and that's why I was referred but they never told me that, I got a rubbish doctor or I had to go to the hospital to have it confirmed what the issue is before they can do it 🤷♀️ Anyway, now awaiting an appointment from my GP or a letter for a referral back to the hospital 🙄
Friday, I had the day off after being poked and prodded in the eyes and having my eyelids turned inside out the previous day and what a beautiful day it was! Me and the dogs soaked up the sunshine and did a bit of gardening. Yesterday, MIL and FIL came for a visit and we went out for a lovely meal. They then stayed over and we had a lovely walk to the church this morning for the annual flower festival. Had a cake from the chuch hall and I may have bought a couple more plants 😅 Now having a chill afternoon. I have one cleaning job tomorrow afternoon, so I'll be able to have a nice relaxing morning before going back to work Tuesday.
Mortgage is currently at £189,578.20 after interest of £600 😱 was added on and then the normal payment of £900 has been taken off. Really not liking this high interest amount, it's making me feel queasy, so best getting overpaying 😀

Haven't posted for a couple of weeks but not at huge amount going on. Working as normal which has been quite stressful. I seem to be getting given more and more work by the M.D. I curse myself for doing a good job as he has now noticed me and is giving me responsibilities, should have just coasted on by unnoticed 🤣
Dog 1 hasn't been very well, she stopped eating on Monday, only taking little bits of food. Still not eating by Wednesday so trip to the vets. Vets couldn't see anything obvious so blood tests ordered. Thankfully it seems nothing sinister going on so painkiller prescribed. £359 for that trip! The stress of her not eating and work mixed together then messed with my stomach and I had to take a couple of days off work. Went back to the vets Friday, another £150, and now some antibiotics. She is eating a little bit now, so thats good, but my stomach is still a churning mess. I really need to get a hold of my stress and anxiousness and do some yoga/meditation.
DH has gone anyway for the weekend on a karate training session. He has two a year, one in May and the other in September, they've been booked since January so although I didn't want to have to deal with this on my own, I didn't want to spoil his weekend away.
As predicted the GP won't drain my blocked eyelid glands so I had to book a clinic 40mins away to have it done, unfortunately there was nothing nearer. Oh well, at least it's being dealt with. I've booked the day off work, but may need the rest of the week off, will have to see what the clinic says about it.
Mortgage now stands at £189,377.75. I'm thinking my target will be to get it down to £185k by the end of the year, £180k if I'm feeling super ambitious!
