The dogs did have a lot of fun and it's nice they all get on well. Our 3 were absolutely shattered after bestie and her dogs had left!
I have become tech support for all of my customers. Technology moves so quickly nowadays that even i find it difficult to keep up at times. I have set up bbc iplayer, all 4 and itvx accounts for one customer this week after they got a new smart TV. My bonus for doing so was a large bunch of purple headed brocoli, which me and DH had some of last night with our tea. I might make a veggie toad in the hole to have some more with tonight.
I had my appraisal at work and it was quite surprising really. In the past 6 months it is the first time I've worked closely with the M.D of the company (I've been there nearly 8 years) and he has been very impressed with me and what I can do! It was so nice to hear because a lot of the time you only get the negative and never hear any positives. I did say about reducing hours and he would rather I didn't because he would like me to work on a project and have more time directly with him, but if I still felt that way I would have to put in a formal request. I'll have to have a think about it. I did also get a payrise this week and I am now on £31,800pa. This is a very good salary for the job i do and the area I live in. I have no travel expenses as it is 5 mins down the road. It makes me think it would be a very silly thing to do if I gave it up to go self employed and do full time cleaning. I think it would be wise to stick with it and get this mortgage cleared up and get my pension and savings up.
I have two cleaning jobs this morning and then I'm hoping the weather will be nice enough to get some weeding done 😀
I've been mortgage free once, so let's do it again!

Ooh, very well done on the feedback and pay rise 👍👍👍 That's a tricky one, maybe give it 6 months and see how you feel then? If you would still prefer to reduce your hours then, maybe you could start really gradually like half a day a week so that you can both get used to it?
P.S. Love the thought of you being tech support, your customers must be so fond of you 🩷

Well done on the appraisal it sounds like you're a valued member of the team. I'd be tempted to do the project and really make myself irreplaceable and then ask for the reduced hours after that. 🤣 ...They will be super keen to keep you on and make you happy.
Hope you have a good weekend.

Well yesterday didn't exactly go to plan! I went to 1st cleaning customer, no answer. Door was locked, went round to her bedroom window (she is 95yo and deaf as she refuses to wear her hearing aids) the curtains were open and bed made so I knew she was up but not at her dressing table as she usually is. Went further round her bungalow, all other curtains closed. Banged on the windows, no curtains opened. By this time, I started to worry that she may have fallen. I call my parents as they are her neighbours (they had gone out for the morning) but they are able to contact her son or daughter. I bang on the bathroom window and hear her little voice saying shes stuck in the bath! My mum then tells me the back door is unlocked. I run in and there she is, sat sideways in the bath with her legs stuck beneath her. She's been there for 2 hours! I call my brother who runs the village fire station and is a first responder, he's at work and can't come out anyway unless it's an official call. I then have to call 999, talk to them for a bit and was told someone would call me back! I couldn't lift her out myself, was too risky. Thankfully after an hour her grandson and his wife with their 3 children arrived, we got her out and sat on the sofa (i was able to get a nighty and dressing gown on her before they arrived to make her decent and keep her warm). Both her son and his wife and then her daughter and her husband had gone away for the weekend. Thank god it was my Saturday to go there otherwise she could have been stuck in there all weekend!! I got a message from her grandson last night saying she was ok and was up and walking about. Luckily she hadn't fallen, but had just sat down and couldn't get up again, but still a horrible experience for her. When her son and daughter get back they are going to discuss carers for her. It did make me a bit cross that no one was checking on her. My grandad is 91, someone calls him at least once a day. I do his cleaning and my parents his washing, it made me cross that they are not doing the same for her.
I had to cancel 2nd customer as I was there so long and ended up going across to my parents for a cup of tea to calm down. I was upset as I felt so useless and wasn't able to get her out myself.
I did manage to get my weeding done in the afternoon and plant some shrubs. I made toad in the hole for tea with the purple headed brocoli and some potatoes, was lovely.
I've just got back from a walk with the dogs and it's a beautiful morning, let's hope today is a bit calmer!

Absolute opposite of useless Jessy! Imagine if you hadn't been there... You kept her warm, kept her company, called for help, did everything you could to help her and it was a good result in the end. She and her family must be thanking their lucky stars that you were booked for a visit!
A good reality check for the family too.

What they said 👍!!! And I bet if anyone had to find her in the nude, she will have been glad it was a friendly face rather than a complete stranger

Thank god you were there for her. Something similar happened to my neighbour and the worst happened because no one checked on him all weekend. So lifesaver Jessy you just being there was the opposite of useless ❤️. Hope you've calmed down though that must have been super scary x
