I am so with you on baths being boring! People that hang around in them for ages reading books and drinking wine just blow my mind 🤯 I've never yet found a bath I could comfortably lay in, let alone want to stay in there as long as possible!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

@South_coast @debtfreewannabe321 You made me laugh I thought it was just me that subscribed to Rightmove, although l have no intention of moving for several years yet🤣 .
Jessy l totally get the unwanted presents hassle 🙄 , excellent idea to move them on as soon as possible. Its a bit harder when you live with the people who gave you the unwanted gift especially when there your children🙈.
I know that must sound awful, I'm sentimental about, pictures they've drawn or items l associate with a lovely memory like a pine cone l kept from a forest walk during covid, or the mug with there photo on l use everyday . But l don't want / need trinkets to dust , bath bombs for baths i'll never take, perfume that gives me a headache or jewellery that doesn't match a thing in my wardrobe 😂.
I hope you get some appointments to view your home soon. Have you planed more viewings yourself?Current Balance £22,000

Just don't be like my late mother in law - I gave her some (quite expensive and a brand she used) eye serum as part of her Xmas present in year - and she re-gifted it to me for my birthday in early March! (I knew it was the same box as I'd accidentally marked it when wrapping)carboot_karaoke said:

Aww no that's such a shame 😞 it's so easy to forget about the givers feelings. I don't mean to sound ungrateful. The reference above was to presents received years ago l still have some in a box in the back of my wardrobe guilt stops me from getting rid of them.greent said:

My mom loved trinkets (mr ck says I'm scarred by it) she keeps everything any of us has ever brought her but the result is a very cluttered house so the "special things" get lost amongst it all. I went to her house this week sorting out things, I told her she could throw away gifts I'd given her 30 years ago and never used but she didn't.
I came clean to my older kids at an age l thought they'd understand. Since then I've had great thoughtful, practical gifts that probably cost less than the other things like ....,
£3 Costa or Greggs gift card with a handwritten message that I use when I'm having a bad day. A notepad attached to a clipboard magnet that's always on the fridge l know it cost £1 from the range but l love it. A bar of my favourite chocolate from lidl, homemade muffins, handmade cards l cherish, a necklace with my initial on it from primark, one year they brought me a spoon rest to match my kitchen and a set of 10 teaspoons l was delighted 🤣 l could go on. I am very blessed and l know it. 🥰

Oh no! Getting a present from someone that you had gifted them is terrible! 😱 I don't regift for that reason tbh unless I am absolutely sure who it came from!
My ceremonial robes arrived this morning for my lady title 🤣🤣 Although a fun present I would rather her have kept her money. Maybe there is a field in Cumbria with plaques every few feet for who owns that little bit of land, who knows 🤣
I plan on putting away the Christmas decs today and putting a little pile of bits (including the bath bombs) to one side for the thrift shop. They often have charity raffles and quizes at the centre as well, so they can use them as a raffle prize if they'd like (must be careful if they do, don't want to win them back!).
I had two cleaning jobs yesterday and have two tomorrow, but then none until Friday. Its been nice to have some time off. I've been sleeping a lot, so I think I needed it and I'm nice and relaxed.
I shared the link to my little bungalow on faceache and I'll ask my brother to share it too, as he's a joiner so is likely to know people that buy to let places. Fingers crossed we get some interest, although I do have some anxiety about not being able to sell it. I spoke to the estate agent that we viewed the bungalow near work bestie and dream house through and told them that we liked both but really liked dream house, so will probably go for 2nd viewings in the new year. We do have 2 more properties we'd like to see, a nice 3 bed house on a quiet cul de sac and a 3 bed bungalow, again on a nice quiet cul de sac. Both of these are on with the same estate agent so I will give them a call tomorrow. We've decided to discount the two bungalows that need work doing on them, we just don't want that hassle.Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. Mortgage Free November 2025!7 -
The Christmas decs are all away and normality is restored. Two cleaning jobs done yesterday and I am able to gift the bath bombs to one of my customers. She's in her 80s and enjoys a bath, so I asked if she would like them and she said she would love them, so that's that sorted!
No interest in the bungalow yet, but still early days. I need to have some patience! Had a call from an estate agent that I have had no contact with wanting to poach me from my current estate agent, cheeky beggars! I have no idea how they got my name and number!
Food shop has just been delivered. I'm not really one for new years resolutions but I'd like to cook more meals from scratch in 2026 and a bit healthier ones too.
I got a bit of extra money from my cleaning customers for Christmas, so I've just ordered myself a pack of two tshirts. I definitely need some new clothes!

I have regular agents trying to poach me too and endless cards through the door, almost on a weekly basis even from those I have already told no to. I never gave them my name or number though.

Cheeky, aren't they?! Thanks. Fingers crossed 2026 is the year we both get to sell and move into lovely new homes!
