Using it as Airbnb could well be against any covenants imposed with the PP (unfortunately I know more about this than I’d like to from the failed move to Norfolk). But agree that it would be worth living with it for a while and seeing what use it could be put to.daisy_1571 said:It would be a shame to take it down before living with it for a year just to see. It could be used for working from home - for yourselves or any neighbour who hasn't the space, proper airbnb even for just a few months a year it can make a significant income, hobby room etc etc
Just a thought

Thanks Daisy and vix x It is food for thought, definitely.
Well, uproar in the village today! Last night I popped to the loo at about 2:30am and I could hear really loud thumping music. I thought it was just some boy racers in the market place and they would move on soon. Nope, it went on for hours and hours! Facebook was going balistic, the police were called by a ton of angry villagers. Turns out there was an illegal rave going on in an empty industrial unit that had just been sold next door to our work! It finally got shut down at 7:30am! The poor new owners put a video of the place on Facebook after it had been cleared out, what a mess. Windows smashed, ceilings and furniture destroyed. Graffiti and other unseemly things everywhere. I feel very sorry for them. It got very close to the locals (including myself) getting our torches and pitchforks out! Needless to say, I'm very tired. DH of course slept through it all! 🤣 Hopefully a peaceful night tonight 🤞
Probably wasn't the best time to do it because of tiredness, but I spent a few hours this afternoon on my solicitors online portal filling out questionnaires and forms for this place and uploading certificates, my proof of ID and all that other stuff. It felt quite stressful but its all done now. I'll probably have to post a lot of the stuff as well, but they can let me know what they need and I'll get that done. Thankfully I'm quite organised and had it all in one place. I had to get a bit of info about the boiler from our plumber, who is work besties son. Turns out he has gone into buying houses to rent them out. He said he would be looking to get another place around April and if ours is still on the market he would be interested. He does think it will sell quickly though, but it is nice to know we might have someone if we don't have much luck until then.
I'm now in my pjs chilling out with a glass of wine and biscuits (it is Christmas after all). Nothing planned for tomorrow morning, but then dream house viewing, followed by two cleaning jobs. Eek I'm excited about seeing dream house! Dream house is a 3 bedroom detached house with large drive and garage. It has a large garden to the front and a very large garden to the back. It has everything we could possibly want with no compromising, hence why its being called dream house. It is on for £265,000, so very reasonable and if I can sell mine for £70k it would mean a mortgage of less than £200k which me and DH are confident we can get rid of way before we both hit 50. (He's 41 and I'm 39). I don't want to get my hopes up too much though, got to remember, if it's meant to be, it will be! 🤞

Thanks everyone and sorry DFW!
OK, so dream house was amazing and we have fallen in love with it! It does need some work doing to it though. The windows will need replacing at some point and so will the bathroom. One of the kickboards in the kitchen was broken and DH said the cupboard doors looked iffy. It's certainly not perfect, but that would gives us an opportunity to put in a lower offer. The garden was fantastic and massive! I could definitely see a veg patch down the bottom and a greenhouse. I did say to DH that I wish we hadn't gone to see it though, because now I feel gutted that we can't do anything about it 😔Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. Cupboard doors and kickboards can be replaced easily enough 😃
How great that you loved it! Has it had much interest?. Surely this time of year is on your side as people are busy with Christmas rather than house viewings! Hopefully yours will sell quickly and you can put an offer in if that's what you want to do ♥️☺️Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500
