  • I can't believe this worked, thank you so much! I had a bit of a mare trying to move the funds (Virgin put it on hold but Lloyds were fine). A lovely £496 profit this morning!
For anyone not sure, I was looking for the option to "Sell" the shares, but they use the word "Close". Then you need to transfer from USD to GBP from the Withdraw Funds option in the menu. All instant and v easy.

Quick question if you don't mind, did you have to put the £5K funds into the USD investment account, and convert it back into the GBP wallet for withdrawal? Or was it just the sale proceeds?

I've been following this thread with interest but haven't taken the plunge with eToro yet. Feels like it's too good to be true! I'm struggling to find £5000 without emptying out a couple of regular savers or withdrawing from an ISA, so I want to make sure it's worth the effort.
Do you have to deposit the £5000 in one go to get the shares? Or can you do it in stages?
And is there a particular promo link you need to use to sign up, or do you just go to their website and create a new account?

Thanks @pecunianonolet for your detailed information a few pages back. Very helpful.

It says only the first deposit counts for the calculation of the bonus. Just follow the link on the etoro home page but make sure you get offered shares early on in the process. See @pecunianonolet post above.

Still no sign of my shares :'(

No, I put £5k into a GBP wallet, as suggested by someone a few pages ago! Worked a treat.
So in effect, the £5k GBP was put in the wallet, untouched, then joined by the USD proceeds from the sale of shares, then all withdrawn.

It seems to be a completely valid offer, it's not a typo or staff error. As the £200 for a £2,500 – £4,999 deposit is also very generous. The £500 thing is all over their website. The only nuance some MSErs are applying is pulling the funds out immediately, instead of after 90 days as specified. I can't see any risk to the source funds and no speculation is needed. The worst that can happen is that I pull my £5K back out again. The offer appears tgtbt as it is laid out, but there doesn't appear to be any catches.

Thanks. So it sounds a bit hit and miss on who gets their shares straight away and who doesn't?

Can you leave the £5k uninvested, so it's not at risk of losing value?

Yes. Although I've not had the welcome bonus yet! But there's no requirement to invest any of the source funds, just choose that option for the account opening reason upon set up - have solely selected interest in trading stocks as part of the registration.

I am being asked this (which I have no idea about), have I selected something incorrectly when registering?
