I was following other tips to open a GBP wallet first to avoid exchange fees. But I also funded the GBP wallet once I'd opened it (whilst on the Wallet tab).Rheumatoid said:

The only tip I would give to anyone trying from scratch (if using the app), is that if everything else is done correctly, you should have a button on the Home page to fund the account to get your welcome bonus. Use that instead of the Wallet tab.
As stated I funded it though the Wallet tab, and the funds showed up there, but not on the Home page and the button to complete the last step remained. I didn't want to put another £5K in so I logged out and in to refresh it, the funds then showed up on the Home page successfully, and the button for the last step for the welcome bonus (Microsoft shares) disappeared, but no welcome bonus notification either.
Judging reddit feedback, if you don't get the bonus straight away, you won't get it and support don't resolve. Obviously they will state wait 7 days, but even after 7 days the people impacted are getting no progress. That must have been for a similar promo last year.
I do wonder if the trick was to fund the 'Investment Account' rather than the 'GBP Account'. I can't even do that now as I did a test £2 transfer to the USD Investment Account, which cost me 1p. But it's only the first time deposit that counts for the promo.
The T&C only state deposit to the 'fully verified eToro Account'. My eToro account was verified as that showed in the notifications before any deposit.
The only odd thing that has just happened, is that I had a 'successfully funded' notification last night and this morning, now that has just disappeared....
Got an email as well to fall back on at least:Let the trading begin!Dear XGreat news — your first deposit is in, and you're all set to start investing. For your convenience, please note that your deposit reference ID is ********. Your deposit details are below:Amount received in your eToro GBP account | 5000.00 GBP0 -
I funded the US investment account so not sure that is the issue. I now know it wasn't the best choice and has cost me £50!Altior said:

I am doing the application and am stuck on entering my phone number!
I enter it but there is no "next" button on the laptop screen.
Any ideas?0 -
Yes, it's a bit of a palaver. I'm half tempted to withdraw my £4999.99 and forget it ever happened !Rheumatoid said:

The only option was to close 'X' top right, it closes the overlay page and then you get back to the same position with everything up to that point saved (whatever percentage way through shows that on the top left).
The second time I entered the phone number there was a button to continue after, underneath it.

I would do the same if wasn't £50 down so will leave it in for a while to try and get the shares. If not I will then try to withdraw from the USD account into my wise USD account to avoid eToro exchange rates and put it down to experience - you win some...Altior said:

eToroHow long to get the funds out?I set my bank a/c for payments out before depositing funds, and it was verified. Having eventually done the works and sent the funds to my bank a/c, after 40 mins I'm still waiting for them to turn up.Could the delay be due to having the £5,000 pulled from a different bank a/c to that that I then sent the funds to? Maybe triggering a money laundering suspicion?1

@pecunianonolet
A massive thank you from me. I followed your instructions (some pages back I might add), the only notable variation was to open a GBP account. I was in two minds, would depositing to the GBP account make me ineligible for the free shares but I wanted to avoid any potential FX fees, it was fine. Btw I took the bank transfer route with Chase and the deposit and withdrawal were very fast.
I assume this cashback isn't taxable too.
I echo your comments on taking more risk this year.
Thanks again1 -
I have mostly got this to work. Using a VPN by the way.I am fully verified.I have £5000 in my GBP wallet and having sold my free MSFT shares I have USD 670 in my Investment account.I would like to move the USD 670 into my GBP wallet so I can withdraw the lot but I get an error message when I choose "move funds".Any tips please?
Edit..
Logged out and in again. Got the "move funds" to work. Withdrew my full balance of around £5495 to bank account.
Many thanks to pecunianonolet and other contributors to this thread.1
