Sainsbury’s credit card transfer to NatWest

Received my first statement from natwest after the transfer. There are 2 charges for interest on there which shouldn't be there. It's absolutely impossible to get hold of anyone. Anyone else had this issue?0

Yes, that was my understanding too and I'm hoping NatWest will confirm that in due course. I'm in two minds as to whether to continue with my existing Sainsburys credit card or apply for a new one with TSB where I have my current account. However, they are migrating to Santander in early 2026 so it could be a rinse & repeat exercise!Others have said that the old payment route will only work until November.
You should be able to set up a new payee using the details I posted here:

I'm only keeping my card because of the 0% balance transfer deal. If no other offers are forthcoming I probably won't be using it and will let it fizzle out in due course.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards, Savings & investments, and Budgeting & Bank Accounts boards. As and when it gets sorted, it's under "Manage my credit limit" for NatWest issue cardsleboff said:Due to an unexpected expenditure I need to raise my card limit. I logged into the Natwest website for only the second time (I don't want to use the app), and managed to find out how to do this online. It directed me to "manage my card", but I find that this doesn't show up on the list of things I can do with my card!So I rang the helpline, which gave a wait time of 25 minutes (heavier than usual calls due to the Sains bank transfer- who knew??) but did offer a callback option (yippeee!), which I selected & confirmed that I wanted callback on the number I was calling from. At this point I got the hold music. No thanks or confirmation that I would get a callback. Of course I didn't get a callback. Natwest, I'm not impressed!Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I'm having the same issue so it seems this is STILL not resolved. I want to pay my full balance and close the account due to poor experience with NatWest in the past. It makes me so mad we can't pay our own accounts! I have an HSBC account and have the issue too, where I cannot pay my card as it recognises the sort code and account number but then I must select one of the NatWest credit cards from a drop down list and of course, a Sainsburys card starting 5236 is not listed!!! Why oh why don't NatWest support payments made from HSBC - a huge global bank. I do hope Martin takes this up as it is wholly unfair if people get charged interest through not being able to clear their balance. A call to NatWest and I gave up after being on hold for 41 minutes. Exactly why I want to leave.0

I can repot, very happily for those still struggling with this issue that after a test £1 payment through HSBC using my sainsburys card perviously stored details, the payment arrived on my NatWest account in the app within about an hour. I have now cleared the balance and requested to close the account. So long NatWest!0

Back once again. I echo all the above.I ended up opening a new card with a different provider. I balance transferred all the balance from the NatWest one and have now closed that account. Utter, utter shambles. They still took the standard monthly direct debit though, putting my closed account into a positive balance, which I then couldn’t spend.NatWest were useless. A theme. I managed to get HSBC to recall the payment. They were great. I will never go near NatWest ever again.0

It's nothing to do with Natwest not supporting payments from HSBC, because of course they support them. The problem lies with HSBC who won't let you input your own card number and insist you choose from a drop-down list instead.AuntSal said:Why oh why don't NatWest support payments made from HSBC - a huge global bank.1 -
I was already a customer with Natwest and have their credit cards too. The 'manage credit limit' option on the app only appears for my original Natwest credit cards but not the migrated Sainsbury's Nectar card.2

Have you queried this with NatWest ?macy08 said:I was already a customer with Natwest and have their credit cards too. The 'manage credit limit' option on the app only appears for my original Natwest credit cards but not the migrated Sainsbury's Nectar card.0
