@DonnySaver Just re-register from scratch tomorrow. I found this in the FAQs: https://www.natwest.com/support-centre/sainsburysbank-transfer-scheme.html#faqs

Hi thought I would try and collate any issues others have had with this transfer, I am currently on hold to Natwest (25 min wait so far) to complain.

So Oct 3rd, changeover day starts and I can't access my Sainsbury app anymore and also can't access the Natwest one until Oct 7th. Well that's fine if the card still works..... right...?

So Oct 4th, I try and purchase fuel in person and the card no longer works contactless only chip & pin. I then try to purchase something from Amazon and it declined the card, which then triggered another non Natwest Credit Card to also lock up due to the risk of fraudulent activity so had to contact them and wait for that delay it to become available again.

At this point the Sainsburys card doesnt even work in Morrisons, not saying declined but instead making the machine come up with "Error" so that's interesting.

I tried contacting Natwest to complain but their telephone line says the only way to complain is through the App....

Finally got through to Natwest as I was typing this and they told me they have had many calls today from Sainsburys customers so I assume I'm not alone, and also that they can't close my account or take the card information and would be best to use the app... which I currently have no access too.

Shoddy service and I won't be returning.

Well I've just got caught out when I received a phone notification that I had "just paid £165 from my NatWest credit card". (My NatWest credit card is a balance transfer only card and so has never left the safe)

Stood for about 30-40 seconds thinking, "How on earth have I made that stupid mistake?" and then it dawned on me!  🤔🤦‍♂️🤪

This means that I am now getting spending notifications from NatWest, but the card is still not showing in my NatWest banking app.

[I already had a NW account, so no activation code for me].

FYI, I noticed my Sainsburys card did magically appear on my NatWest account (as a Nectar card) on Sunday, and I could scroll through and see previous transactions but it seems to have disappeared today! Still, they said the 7th so I may have caught them mid-process.

For what its worth, I use my Sainsburys card as a balance transfer card and NatWest balance transfer cards are, for me at least, pretty terrible at offering ongoing offers so I'll probably close it in a couple of months time. At least Sainsburys would send an offer about once every 3 months so not too bad.

Off topic - but there are more rewarding cards to use in Morrisons.

My card is now live in the NatWest app.  I'm a new customer so had to finish setup, but all looks OK.  My last D/D was Friday 3rd October and that shows correctly.

Ditto. Also my nectar account balance can be accessed with one click from the Natwest page which is much easier than prevously.

  • Hi
    please help!
my credit card was with Sainsburys, i’ve had no correspondence whatsoever to say it’s migrated to Natwest. I’ve tried 3 telephone numbers to apeak to a person. All cut off when transferring me. My credit card bill is due on the 10/10. My Sainsburys app is no longer working. Does any one have any info on this changeover. I can do an online transfer to pay my bill on time. Tried this and it says their account number and sort code dont match? Thanks for reading.

Just re-registered from scratch, no issues whatsoever and my card is showing in my account, all details correct. DD is due tomorrow so I hope there's no problem with that but that should be fine as I've seen that the name has changed from Sainsbury's to NatWest in my list of DD
