I found the same problem, despite being an existing Octopus customer they wanted me to re-enter DD details and what day of the month I wanted to pay.  I just want all the DD details / payment date as they already are, hope they don't go changing stuff around, only want the tariff rates changing that's all.

I'm with BG tried to switch to new deal and got the ineligible message. After reading messages on forum changed my present supplier and it allowed me to switch and sent me an email stating switch in progress. I rang British Gas today and was told no switch was requested and it could not be done manually as it is an exclusive deal. Told to contact MSE so I sent an email and received an automated response. Not sure where to go from here.

I've now spent days trying to make this change. British Gas insist the problem is with MSE. No response to emails sent. I feel like I have been dangled an unobtainable carrot by the very people who's purpose is to help us. Well done to all that have been successful. Just have to leave the heating off for longer lol

Just worked for me, and showed results for my stated usage. Did take me two attempts to log in though, and the criteria came from my password manager, so it wasn't a typo!

Currently on British Gas Exclusive Fixed Energy v82 (finishes Oct 26), now being offered British Gas Exclusive Fixed Aug 2028 v3 (£800 more expensive than current!!!). Neither of these tariffs show on CEC tariff listings and the sage chatbot says MSE unable to show them unless British Gas says so; I suggested I could forward the offer details, but told MSE cannot accept them. Is this energy suppliers bypassing comparison sites?

Try another comparison site, or just use BG directly if you want to stay with them. Sadly, a major increase in cost seems inevitable at the moment.

BG "Exclusive" tariffs are only offered via certain channels - so MSE CEC might not be aware of them.

If you're at the end of your current tariff, you might as well compare options vs. the SVT. Look at monthly or annual costs and compare those to whatever the equivalent cost of the Exclusive tariff is.
