It might affect CEC's own calculations but it won't affect your switch.Yes, if your switch fails you should remain on your existing tariffs.

My switch has successfully gone through, but I have sent a link to this thread to the MSE Deals team, asking them to look into it.

This was the reply I got...Right now, we're running our Big Energy Switch Event - to get the collective tariffs, you'll need to have been a Cheap Energy Club member or signed up to get our weekly Money Tips email before 11.59pm on Friday 26 September. The British Gas collective switch tariff ("Collective Nov26") is available to switch to through Energy Club for both new and existing British Gas customers paying by Direct Debit or on receipt of bill (for existing customers), however there is some logic built into the site where you need to be 'identified' as a British Gas customer for the existing-customer tariffs to show - and it seems like for some reason we're unable to detect that you're an existing customer based on your address data. Please can you try amending your current supplier in your Cheap Energy Club settings to list a different supplier? This should then bring up the tariff in the results.

I'm on Tomato for Electricity & BG for Gas. If I change my details to Octopus the BG Big Switch deal shows as being available for dual fuel but if I change it to gas only (I want to stay with Tomato for electricity as I'm on an EV tariff) it's no longer available. CEC have really messed this one up.3

I did have to go through this and I wonder if it is part of the problem. Would be good to know how many of the people having issues had to go through this process?1 -
I can't get it to work and I've tried everything I can think of. Been a member for years, same email address.Currently on an Octopus Loyalty fix but the MSE email suggests I can change and the new tariff would save me around 50p/day on gas, although electric is very slightly dearer but we don't use much elec. It's beyond frustrating that it won't work.1

I have the same suppliers as you and faced exactly the same problems. Going through that process and switching to gas only gave me same result as you until one time when it didn't, then I went through the switch process and got a congratulations email from MSE but nothing at all from BG. No idea what's happening now.
Edit: I just went through the process again. Changed my gas supplier to Southern Energy or whatever and then it showed me the Collective NOV26 dual fuel deal. Changed the filter to "gas only" and its still showed me the deal. I signed up again just to see if it goes through this time. Awful system.Reading this signature is a waste of time0 -
Same happening to me too. Been with MSE and energy club for decades with same email they sent the message too but says I am not eligible.1
