I've just been to the Donnay shop in Braintree Freeport and picked up a pair of silver umbro football boots for £8.09 were £26.99 and some silver umbro shin pads for £1.49 were £4.99 for my 5 year old who is starting football practice next week. I'm very chuffed with my bargains :j

The 70% off signs are still up.

Yeah, in my local store they have massive signs covering the whole of the shop front saying "closing down" but when you look closer there's a tiny A4 sheet of paper at the bottom which says "...for rebranding" - pretty blatant if you ask me!!!

I went to Exeter on Friday and picked up the same Umbro boots (with velcro fastener so ideal for my 6yr old). Same shin pads and I also got a very good quality football kit bag by Umbro for £1.79 down from £7.99. All in all a very good bargain, even if they are only rebranding.

I was in my local sports ski shop and asked what was happening to the shop. They told me not to worry as it was reopening as a sports soccer shop selling similar lines.

They're not closing down. I am working on a charitable campaign (http://www.give4strips.org.uk) and we have been working closely with Sports Soccer as they are supplying the football kits very cheaply.

The manager of the store we have been dealing with has told us that it is a rebranding, not a closure.

As an aside, you can drop a few quid in the give4strips bucket online if you like.

lol The one in Luton, the very day it opened it had a closing down sale. They just never seem to close down though....

the one in staines has had big signs saying closing down all stock must go for weeks and weeks, the other week however there is a small sign about A4 size in one corner saying closing for rebranding, which basically means there is another shop selling the exact same stuff...called something very similar but the name eludes me right now and my guess is all they will do is put a new sign up and get new carrier bags.

the staines one said we have no idea what date this will be.

I asked a manager and they said it was a shop refit excercise. They will be reopening under a new name!!!!!!!!!!

The "close down" has been going on for over 3 mths in Leicester.
