Just been to my local sports soccer (n.london) and they had loads of football boots reduced.

I bought NIKE TOTAL 90 which were reduced from £40 to £11.99, plenty of others going cheap too.

This shop is normally dicounted heavily anyway, but now they seem to have a clear out sale too.

Not sure if this is regional though?

Haha, anyone who actually believes that shop is closing down is having a laugh. The shop in my area has a huge sign of "Closing Down" with a really small notice under that saying "For Refurbishment".

All "sports soccer" stores say closing down. All "sports world" stores say "all stock must go" because all the sports soccer stores will re-open as sports world. So blx really. They are cheap though

    Now that is funny! Cheers!

Newcastle (Eldon Square) branch has had a "closing down sale" for ~4 months. Always heavily reduced items anyway... especially the brands they own - Umbro, Donnay etc. The other brands like Nike, Adidas and Puma are never reduced though... in any of the closing down / stock must go / mid-season / end-of-season / Christmas sales or their regular prices. These products can always be bought cheaper from other stores - I do not have the current prices though so cannot post some examples.

The sales staff are deliberately minimum-wage and as always, under-18 cheap-as-chips school-children as staff is always a recipe for extremely bad customer service... that's the same in any store stupid enough to employ children.

The store always looks like a complete bomb-site... but the prices are cheap and you get what you pay for.

We are getting one in our town soon. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to have a closing down sale?

  • Not keen on their returns policy. Will only give credit note unless the item is faulty so if you buy something which does not fit you are stuck with buying something else from there.
