We had a shop in brighton years ago called Sport & Ski (the same kind of thing as sports soccer) and it had a closing down sale that lasted for almost 5 years.

In the Swindon store they have stuck up little notcies saying "closed for re-branding".

The only bargain I found were the new Liverpool Away shorts for £9.99 (normally £19.99)

No. No store has to give a refund unless goods are faulty. Retailers refund unsuitable goods purely through 'goodwill'.

I spoke to someone in a store who told me there not really closing down just re-branding. So I think there clearing certain brands such as Fila, Umbro etc. Then re-opening under a new name with only makes like Nike.
