the staff in my local branch say that they are indeed closing0
-
I have been in 2 branches since the "closing down sale" started, neither of them had any further reductions - just the usual bargains.
The stores might be terribly claustrophobic but I do not see any other reason for anyone to complain about them - their prices are often a fraction of other High Street sports shops.
A lot of people on here seem to be complaining about the staff, but I have never had the slightest problem with any of them and the girl that served me in the Lowry Centre on Saturday was exceptionally friendly and well-mannered.0 -

the Dundee store has alot of empty rails I'm afraid & the stock they do have left are priced at the usual good value prices .... no added bargains.
I was in last weekend and Q'd for 45 mins to be served because it was so busy, I only stayed in the Q because the football shirt I was buying for my son was the last in that size otherwise I'd of left it till early Monday morning when it's much quieter0 -
My local store has big posters saying 'closing down' and then on A4 paper they are advertising vacancies for the "rebranded store" :rolleyes:If Tescos and Asda are lowering prices every day,
how come nothing is free yet? :rotfl:0 -
I went in and it was a right mess couldn't be bothered to wait in the queues, and the footy boots werent reduced, so i went to Allsports and gt the F50 boots size 9 for £45 was well chuffed, and gt me nectar points.V.L.W0

:T well with this sport soccer talk i just had to register! i used to work in a branch and constantly had people asking when the we closed or the sale was ending - the truth is, it never was!
I also have to agree that the staff were appauling and i have to admitt i wasnt great! However the managment team are extremely immature and couldnt really give a monkey about what went on in the store!
As members of the managment team were rude to staff, including me, i felt very out of place and uncomfortable working there. i had to leave - as me and a fellow employee left due to the standards in the shop and the attitude of the mangers (resulting one occasion of me walking out crying) the managers started pranking us and ordering pizza to our houses! BEWARE OF SPORT SOCCERS!!0 -
went to the one in cheshire oaks today and it doesnt say closing down it just says 'all stock must go' i must admit that it was a total mess the queue was massive and the staff very slow. i am management in a well known clothes shop and i tell you if my shop looked like that and the standard of customer service was that bad i would cry!! but maybe their look on it is that they are so cheap people will shop there regardless of their customer service policy. the tidiest and most pleasent one i have been to is in the lowry centre in manchester.0

they not actually closing down just being taken over by sportsworld .. they are selling all old stock then closing restocking and reopening under a new name.. i asked when i was in the store..Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
sounds a bit of a mess really..... it's similar to eisennegger shops, always 'everything must go' and 75 % etc etc..... it does really get on my nerves.... why can't they just be honest enough to sell it at those prices in the first place....
Do they think we are all really dim ????

The truth is the owners, directors etc of these high priced shops must think that some of us are dim,but not all of us.Occasionally you will see these huge reductions pasted on the shop windows. This will pull in those punters who have an eye for a bargain. Some are happy to pay over the top and to see a reduction they flock in there droves to wear the next best designer outfit. But
unfortunately some of the other companies are also stocking at much lower
prices as soon as the word gets around, the unfortunate closing down sale appears. At last they get their just desserts.0
