the_one_and_only wrote:Hi ya im going up to Merry Hill later to catch some bargains, does anyone know if they have reduced the football boots at all, preferably if anyone knows if the vapor ones that are £99 are reduced?
not last week they werent, except for the nike ones on the top floor to £28 although i seem to remember them being that price a month ago.
footwear is not included in this sale, it is purely clothing, and not all clothing either, the addidas section remained un sale promotioned as did the nike clothing area.
there are some bargains but i found the best section was below the stairs, the jeans and casual t shirts ( not that i have ever seen any formal t shirts mind)what is the plural of moose?

Went to the Milton Keynes store today, the staff said they were changing the name to Soccer World or Sports World (can't remember which).
Got a pair of Vans boots today for £19.49! Might go back and get some more, pity the Converse isn't reduced!
Thanks to original poster!if i had known then what i know now0 -
I am thinking about going up to the Dundee store this weekend. Does anyone know if there are any bargains to be had?0

The East Kilbride store is being closed down then renamed, opening back up again. The trainers I got for the kids were the same price as a few weeks ago, but did get hubby a raincoat golf) one for fiver - ideal for Shetland Trip!!No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:
Officially Mortgage free 31/07/2017 , 12 years early :j0 -
We were in the Bury store today, what a mess it looks like a jumble sale, trainers everywhere, not many in boxes no system IE by size or whatever. My DH got a pair of decent Umbro trainers for £15 reduced from £30 so in spite of ridiculous slow service it was worth the visit. I have never seen any member of staff in any branch I have visited who looked old enough to be working at all.
I agree with the people who have said it is difficult to get round, I don't have a pram and I struggle sometimes. Must admit it has kept the cost of trainers etc down over the 6 years or so it's been around, there is also JJB & JD on either side on the same retail park, not sure how they keep going.0 -
In Southampton West Quay store the massive notices on the windows say "Closing Down Sale"
Then underneath in smaller writing it says "For Rebranding"
At least they are being honest(ish) in Southampton.A bargain is only a bargain if you intended on buying it in the first place!!!0 -
yes certainly getting around with a pram is very difficult, and of course the ladies dept in York is upstairs.
Although i must admit the very young assistant helped carry the pram up (funny though, after getting to the first level he stopped and said 'shall i help you up the rest of the stairs', as if i could miraciously float up the rest of the stairs, and then even more bizzare found there was a tiny lift a the back of the store!)
Was well worth the visit, even though there was a long or more frustrating slow queue, the SA's have no sense of urgency about them what-so-ever!How much ?????????!!!0 -

It is JJB next to Boots, sounds about right expanding the Tesco, they have bought the access at the top end of the carpark. We are getting a new Tesco about a mile away so Bury won't be my local from next week. (sorry to go OT)0
