NST September 2025: Keep It Simple!

I have only had one NSD per se, but I have been dealing in cash and kept within the budget this week. I got paid in cash for the weekend work - 1am on Monday morning! Love a fat envelope of cash - all NI and taxes have been paid, I know because I don't pay tax yet, and I will have to claim it back in April. My financial NY resolution was to try and be a tax payer this year. It might just happenIn laws yesterday announced they will be coming in October (on the way to somewhere else), DH announced he was going to be busy at work.... (sigh). They are not my responsibility. They have the kind of children they raised. Not my monkeys, not my circus. See, I am getting wiser (thanks Dave Ramsey). Still hoping to pick up work that week so I can opt out of the whole fiasco-to-be! I did get a booking for a week in January and for two weeks in September 2026 so I got to use the 2026 part of my 5 year diary. I think I love it. I am watching the job page for employer 2 so I can pounce if anything local comes up.

I'm grateful for a few hours of work yesterday and for my adventure as I walked home from there. I'm also grateful for dh offering to pick me up for the last 2 miles. I did over 20,000 steps!Today I am grateful for a lie in after a rough night with Pip, for a mild day, for some crafting, for easy food and for good coffee!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!5

Reading and sleeping a lot but still plodding.
Grateful for splatting my first frog, eating from tins (sore throat), being aware of my mental health.8 -
Today will be NSD #4. I did buy some business stuff but that is accounted for elsewhere as required by HMRC.Cut the last few little cucumbers yesterday and composted the plants. Also emptied a spring onion trough and replaced on the patio stand with another. Picked more tomatoes too - they are still ripening on the plants so I have left them for now, although they look dreadful after all the wet weather.I will make more soup for lunch, leek and potato today.Dinner will be duck legs that have been in the freezer for ages. I will also cook some chicken for another day while the oven is on.I have a pile of ironing to do, and the stock items I bought this morning to clean up. That will be enough for today after a very early start!6

Glad you're feeling better @beanielou, congrats on 6 NSDs.
Hope you're not too sore after all your steps @apple_muncher.
Friday at work went fine, dashed into town to get shopping with mum, managed to cram in the last 3 episodes of a series, then drive into town with DH to catch the boat. Unfortunately I didn't sleep too well, but glad it was a smooth crossing.
Arrived in Aberdeen at 7am, collected DS1's phone, then walked to the site if his passing. Collected more stones to bring home & some seeds. Walked along the coast path, to two places he'd previously visited. Found graffiti tags he'd made (whilst I don't condone graffiti, it felt comforting to see them). Stopped at the site again on the way back to pick some blackberries & found another tag there. Had lunch, then I walked to get food for the trip home (DH's heel & knee too sore to walk far). So by the time we got back on the boat at 4pm, I'd walked over 12 miles!! A smooth trip home.
Finally managed NSD#1 today. Washed the dishes, unpacked my bag & hoovered round. Made soup, then looked at some photos on DS's phone. Watched the video he'd made of him reading his letters to everyone. There were some things not in the notebook too. I feel heartbroken now, so sad I won't see my boy again.
Think I'll stay home tomorrow, to process it all.
Grateful for it staying dry yesterday for all our exploring, getting the last item of his back, the precious memories & special words from my beautiful boy.Use it up, wear it out
