About 45 mins ago received a "Thank you for going paperless" email and just now had "Welcome to the app" - so emails starting to flow through!
Good luck, you'll get plenty of messages and emails, just hope it all works out for you.

My wife is still getting messages and emails, apparently despite her not being able to access the app, Barclays think she has another account to finish opening in that very same app!!

Managed to open the account using the app without too much trouble, amazed really after reading the horror stories here!

Opted in to the Blue Rewards & requested a switch.

I'm assuming I can cancel Blue Rewards after I receive the switch bonus, but not before?

I made a mistake while opening the account.
I have opened the account in the website. Can I still get the bonus if I complete the switch in the app?
Anyone lese in the same boat?

"It’s [the offer] only available to new customers who download the Barclays app and use it to either:
    • Open a sole Barclays Bank Account and join Blue Rewards (eligibility, conditions and a £5 monthly fee apply)

    or

    • Open a sole Premier Current Account (terms, conditions and eligibility requirements apply)
    • Start a full switch by 28 August 2025, including at least two active Direct Debits, and complete it within 30 days of opening the account
    • Pay at least £1,500 into their new Barclays account within 30 days of opening it." Terms.
So you haven't correctly followed the terms by opening the account in the app.

You can cancel the switch and start again, or keep going and hope that Barclays will still pay you your switch cash. If not, you can avail of a future switching offer with them.

Any suggestions for opening a bank account that can be easily switched? Don’t want to close by Chase account.

Open a secondary Chase current account in the app and switch that instead? As long as you always keep at least 1 account open you won't have issues with not being accepted back to Chase in future.

Alternatively, maybe Monzo/Starling or failing that a secondary current account with a high street bank you already bank with.

Some people have reported opening a Monzo or Starling account and switching it away can block you from using them in the future, just as a warning. I was able to open a Starling account a while after doing this however I have not tried Monzo.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
