That (the handover reading "problem") is not unusual. It means you'll either be paying EDF for some energy you've been supplied by Octopus, or vice-versa.You should find out what the handover readings are when you get your first bill from Octopus.N. The meter just clicked at 4.09 pm ..!!!
be interesting to see if it goes off at 5.09 pm !EDIT ..it did click off at 5.09So looks like they have you on Snug afternoon boost for the ALCS L contactor symbol - which I assume will disappear for that hour too -at least as a test unless as above they took the initial conversation as a switch request.I woould hope they also have you on the c9p off peak rate too for that hour - as otherwise your heating might have come on if powered on - at the c31p e7 peak rateRemember Snug doesn't rely on your peak off peak registers - it uses the 48 1/2 hour data points - so what the meter says for price could be off - but your app and bills etc should reflect the snug rates - for the off peak core and any extended overnight and of course the 1 hr afternoon boost..1 -

Just got this …..
Just read one of the Octopus blogs on the validation process and margins for acceptance.Wow they do like to make things complex - all in the supposed name of fairness. How far out are the validated numbers vs those you supplied ?I could see how with irregular readings from dumb meters (old or non comms smart) it is necessary - but surely with working smart they could just use an agreed dates overnight readings1 -

But the switch has gone through - so doesn't that mean EDF have agreed the same readings as Octopus.Have a look on the final bill (or is it bills) from EDF and compare those to your readings - they should match Octopus figures when you get them - so you never pay for the same energy twice if a gap was in one of their favors - or pay zero for it because of a gap in your favor.1

Also just another thought -as cannot remember exactly how long it took - but it's possible - the 2 weeks for refund (or penalty) may count on the as sent - so it's 2 in reality weeks + say 3+ days BACS clearance - or whatever it takes for a reverse DD payment if thats different.1

Spoke to octopus ..I can go on snug as I asked last week …but there was an issue from their side which will be resolved soon , it did go on my meter initially then failed ,so back on e7 until it’s sorted
