Yours looks like a snug chart.

Here is mine from a few months ago when I had temporary issues while on snug.  The issue back then was I was on snug but I was also stuck on E7 timings, so back then they weren't giving me the cheap afternoon 4pm to 5pm cheap hour.

I guess the good things is, you seem to be on snug timings.  So your meter is suitable for snug.

My tariff says I’m on E7 thou

I did ask if I could go on snug , but there is no afternoon boost like yours was if I am on it

that would explain why the off peak kicked in before midnight if its Snug as it varies in time by my understanding

I will ring them on Tuesday see what’s going on

Yes I'm sure you are on E7.  But your charts are identical to the layout of snug charts. And of course that random 11.30pm off peak is like snug. Plus if you were on snug your afternoon cheap hour would be 4pm to 5pm.  But with your 9 minutes offset it would click off at 5:09pm.

So it seems to give you hours like E7 they've just changed your ALCs to the snug configuration.

Check at the bottom of your account profile to see what tariff you are on.

Like I say, there is a bright side because your smart meter looks suitable for snug.

Also if you look at your E7 chart from a few days ago.  It was labelled:

    (1) Standing charge
    (2) Day rate
    (3) Night rate

But even though you are still on E7, your chart is identical to a snug chart and the latest charts that you showed are labelled:

    (1) Standing charge
    (2) Standard rate
    (3) Off peak.

Thanks for those power graphs that looks like you are on day rate and no obvious signs of a 3 kW immersion or a 3.4 kWh NSH beng on - well not for any more tha a few minutes in any of those half hour c25-30p slots on Sat afternoon.

Teh 25-28 leves matching the upto 0.9kWh levels as expected at day rate.

But still don't understand the click at 5:09pm

Rosie said she's still on E7.  But if she switched to snug she would then get a 4pm to 5pm cheap hour, any storage heater would then click off at 5:09pm.

From her latest charts they've given her snug configurations.  But no afternoon cheap hour until she switches to snug.

Good catch on the 11:30pm rate drop.

But her charts posted earlier 5pmsh  post for Fri 22nd and yesterday - so Sat 23rd -- say shes on Octopus fixed 12m - so surely thats her E7 12m fix not snug.

So their shouldn't be a five O clock "switch" click from the meter.

Also the white cost bubbles on those earlier charts are e7 style pricing c 13.4p etc - not the c9p off peak snug.

So it all seems a little strange.

But as you point out in the after 8pm post tonight - there is that tell tale pre midnight low rate 11:30 slot on the 23rd of a brought forward snug boost

    The plot thickens.

Suspect Rosie1001 might be on the phone again on Tues.  Assuming Octopus non emergency CS shut tomorrow for the BH.

Do they do some pre-emptive testing - I wonder if they logged any conversation re Snug as an instruction to switch once E7 configured in some way - is another possibility - given Rosie1001 desire for an afternoon boost - even if only 1 hour vs her old 2 hours.

So  maybe everything is now Snug.

And so the other differentiator would be the end of core hours 6 on snug so 06:30 GMT (0730 BST) vs E7's 7 hrs so 07:30 GMT (0830) end of E7 window - assuming they default to 6 hours if Rosie1001 not entered her lower number.

I think Vienna28 has figured it out. You may as well just switch to Snug if that is the case for the cheaper night rate.

OK that makes the Snug reasoning even more interesting - as the end of the afternoon slot would as vienna28 has posted - align.

You have clearly been logging in to either an app or your online account portal - have you noticed anything there to suggest you have been moved late Sat / today.

Dont panic now - log in tomorrow AM at some convenient point.

And if your an early riser well theirs always the 0730 (9) vs 0830 (9) click test.

(Snug allows users to choose less than 6 hours overnight - hence my question - but I assume it will default to the 6 max on ALCS and 6 regardless on tariff - perhaps @vienna28 - can confirm - as was on Snug on / off for a while. I am guessing as others have talked about changing it on other forums - it might even appear on the website portal / app ? )
