Yes I believe that is the correct case for the 12-b series.  And if alcs and tariff tables matched, the price should have been your now ? OCTOPUS peak rate.

The L contactor symbol is displayed open across the trrminals "only when the off peak load is off".  Arguably counter intuitive for users.

You should hopefully never see the M equivalent, which is built in to display above tge L one - as that iirc means the meter has cut you off supply to tge live feed port 4 as well

    And the latter,

When their was a difference between users posts from es10 and es12 meter manuals.

"Which version of manual I linked tge revision 1 for the es12b 7/2/ 20  above and that second line says

L icon ON:  LCS is OPEN."

Thst means port 5 restricted feed will be off.

from that manual I sadly didn't file away.

And you seemed to confirm that the L contactor (-o/ o-) icon was going away at off peak load control times in a latter post in that thread too

"I was up and checked the meter at 12 midnight and watched it “L “ icon go out and the kWh flashes rapidly so I knew the storage heaters were charging"

[OT] Soon after that confusing little episode, I was trying to help a customer with his meters, both electricity and gas. That's when I realized that opening and closing a gas tap has precisely the opposite function of opening and closing an electrical switch.
    • To turn the flow of electricity on, close the switch.
    • To turn the flow of gas off, close the tap.
... or vice versa as appropriate. [/OT]
    I'm not being lazy ...
    I'm just in energy-saving mode.

I think you give them too much credit Rosie. It's more like customer service agent lottery these days with energy suppliers.

I think their is a limit for processing refunds after the final bill - yes 6 weeks to bill - IIRC you have that issued to you already - and 10 working days from bill to refund - so you might have to wait an extra day for the BH - but generally 2 weeks

    "

    Credit on a closed account

We’ve put in place guaranteed standards to make sure you quickly get final bills and money owed after closing an account.

    Suppliers have:

    • six weeks from a switch to automatically send a final bill
    • 10 working days from a final bill to automatically refund a credit balance

If suppliers breach a standard they must compensate you. "

I think if you look at the L contactor line from the ES10B manual its different from the one I quoted from the ES12B manual - not that (I think) I have access to the latter anymore

Shame they took it down - as that manual gave users like Rosie1001 useful diagnostics help - like the route to the live price display in the menu structure - which I'd have to use my IHD for - as it gave a nice map of the user info screens for EDMI meters.

Just heard the meter click over again today at 5.09 pm

Can  it click and not actually do anything???

Or do I need to check the meter timings tomorrow, I’m supposed to be on E7 now

    *******

    from octopus

Additionally, during British Summer Time off peak timings are 1:30-8:30am.

    ………

And I heard the meter click early Saturday morning at 1.39 am so thought it was all ok

Last two days off the app , heating has been on low on those days
