They did rates and tariff timings together in April - but left the ALCS e10 timings iirc, so hopefully fine for now.

april was a nightmare remember ?? Trying to prove my readings were incorrectly registering

I’m definitely on E10 timings as I can hear it click over …need to check if the off peak rate is going up on those timings ..

Will check today at 2.09 pm …
Sorry.  Not looked through your old threads to find this answer but when you had your meter installed was you meter ever on E7 timings?

I ask because when Octopus activated and were controlling my ALCS on Octopus Snug, when they switched me to Snug timings all the switchover clicks that I previously had on E7 disappeared.

So maybe switchover clicks only happen on a smart meters natural set up (mine E7, Yours E10).  So that may be why that in over 40 days they still havent took you out of E10 timings?

I was for about a week on E7 until the meter was commissioned and then I got my E10

when I was on E7 for the week the  meter click times changed , that’s how I knew I’d lost my E10

Then  I lost it on April 1st price changes …,then I had a fight with EDF as the meter was wrongly registering some of my timings to peak and not off peak rates

my meter was always doing  the E10 change overs since the initial update in march , and that hasn’t changed

Just checked ... All my power went on offpeak when the meter clicked over …

    so defo E10 still …

I’ve asked for them to update etc , then I can move suppliers once that’s in place …

E10 is not going to work for me , it’s just too expensive, so looks like E 7 or possibly snug moving forward…

we will “heat the person “ as well this winter and I have a lot of credit for additional heating where needed ….we also have electric blankets so , I’ll keep that room warmer if need be when it’s really cold for my hubby

thank you everyone , it’s been a slog to get to this point , I appreciate all your time and support , and advice …I could not have done this without your help

When you switch, your supplier should refresh the meter timings along with the rest of the tariff info in your meter. So you don't have to cajole EDF if you don't want to :)

@Rosie1001 As QrizB says, you don't have to get EDF to do anything, just change supplier, the new supplier will update all your meter settings with the new tariff they give you.
Don't forget to give your new supplier your Opening meter readings (R1 and R2). They will then pass them to EDF once they've been verified

    Thank you

I think I’m going to octopus , initially on their E7 will a view to changing to snug in the colder months

apparently I can go between tariffs with no issues

my worry is the over run in my Alcs , which is 9 mins

can any one work out how much approx per day this will cost me per day ,

A rough guess assuming you have two 3.4KW heaters running at full whack for 11 mins at 29.63p/kWh on peak rate, that would be an extra 37p a day at 6:30am and another 37p at the end of the afternoon boost. The chances are at the back end of the morning charge cycle, you may find that they might be fully charged. So probably no more than an extra 50p a day. Compare that to your previous E10 rates and you are still quids in by a long shot. If you can be bothered, you could also set a reminder on your phone to manually switch any storage heaters off and back on at the wall sockets.

    2 x 3.4KW = 6.8
    6.8 x 29.63p = £2.01
    £2.01 / 60mins = 0.0335
    0.0335 x 11 mins = 37p

Thank you , I can cope with that price on overrun

I will apply to change to octopus today

On their E7 I don’t think you get a overrun at all so it will only be for when I’m on snug , probably around 3 months or so of the year
