How much work would it be to go self timed with your installation so could go tou ?
[Restricted to live either with a master contactor with smart switch timing or a series of spur and immersion timers doest sound a lot depending on usage and so payback period re any likely savings.]My first night (27th July) on the heat pump tariff didn't go well. The night before i had been messing with my living room storage heater on/off switch. I accidentally left it on. When I woke at something past 4, my living room was hot, I had used over 8kwh peak rate. So this is when I knew I was still in E7 timings.Next day edit: Because of the "Good Energy tariff" £75 exit fee, I had a plan that if my hot water/storage heaters didn't instantly align with the new tariff "off peak" then I would use the 14 day cooling off period and leave.Maybe if I had contacted them they could have aligned it but because of the potential £75 exit fee I had no time to be patient. So I instructed them that I had changed my mind about joining them and I would be using my 14 day cooling off period. They said ok.As I said in that other thread (when I talked about UW). uSwitch comparison site says you need to be an homeowner to join UWs "value" tariff. I am not an homeowner. So I ran that quote numerous times on the UW site, always ticking that "I don't own my own property" and it always said I could join its "value" tariff. So because it's not my own home it's not up to me to modernise. In the past 3 years the HA have put in new windows, a new front door that now keeps the draught out, also last year they put in new loft insulation. The inspector who checked the loft beforehand said inside the loft was all covered in black mould. The home inspector last year did say in a year or two I would get new storage heaters. So they will come eventually.2 -
UPDATE
Hello Joanne
E10 was removed as of the 1st July. Can you forward the email which says differently? i can look to have internal feedback provided if the wrong information was given. I have updated and backdated this to E7.
SO IVE SENT THE EMAIL ! Let’s see what they say !2 -
Newbie here,
@Rosie1001 i am having similar issues to you with regards to EDF and the retiring of older tariffs presumably due to the rts switch off. I was on eco2020 and as far as I can tell my meter isn't an rts meter but EDF sent the same letter placing me on to a single rate tariff despite having a dual rate meter.
After raising a complaint I was placed back onto a dual rate tariff followed by email confirmation on 7 July, I then submitted my monthly meter readings on 1st Aug in which my bill has reverted back to charging myself a single rate tariff?
I have today tried to sort this via the call centre but I am being told they no longer do dual rates ie E7, in which I feel was not correct, as my account shows available switches which are dual rates (day rate & cheaper night rate), the only reason I don't want to action a switch via my account is because some new tariffs have exit fees and I am worried if the billing reverts back to a single rate then I maybe charged an exit fee?
I do not understand how EDF can be so lame as to getting complaints/issues rectified within a reasonable time period.

The definitely do E7 but I think you have to have a smart meter to get it
have you put in an official complaint with them ?? Or did they close your original complaint ??
im on my 3rd complaint now with them
the call centre is appalling now , you never get the same answers twice !Photos of your meter might help … that’s what I done and the support I got was and is amazing1 -
They closed my initial complaint as they placed myself back onto a dual rate tariff so i presumed it was sorted until my latest bill showed a single rate.
Ive sent an email complaint to edf with my intial complaint attached, so I will wait for a reply and see what they say.1 -

I do not understand how EDF can be so lame as to getting complaints/issues rectified within a reasonable time period.I suspect until your on an e7 meter, they wont give you e7 prices.E10 on EDF was until June 30th - c5p more expensive peak rate 14 (vs your e2020 midweek) hours a day, vs their e7 (when it would be for 17 hrs).(EOn as a legacy deal even 10 years ago puts the premium on off peak sadly - so im still c18p, c4p above e7 off peak. Im not expecting e10 to survive my next meter upgrade - currently old smart smets1 to smets2 - maybe c2027.)E2020 - iirc was 10 hrs - but all overnight - and Fri night to Mon AM - iirc - so might have included an even further premium on peak / off peak rates.I am not sure how that times controlled - are they just preset digital meter(s) settings ?But I suspect until the timings match so e7 tariff prices for e7 timings (49 hrs off peak per weak - solid 7 hr overnight block) not e7 pricing e2020 timings (98 hrs off peak ?) - they may trap you in SR until you get a smart meter. And if e2020 not simple single meter / mpan - get any mpan issues resolved as @Rosie1001 (still waiting external supplier verification afaik - as still failing Fri iirc).

@Scot_39 My old eco2020 tariff prices were brought in line with their E7 tariff some years ago but was my tariff was still named eco2020, the only difference being was the timings & yes they were preset when the meter was installed.
Thankfully my meter is a single mpan.
I will update as soon as I hear back from edf.1 -
Wow - e7 on e2020 timings - seems they were feeling generous.Id love it if EOn Next gave me e7 rates on e10 timings - I'd be saving about 4p a unit on a thousands of kWh of HW And NSH heating - without the worry of running out of heat in the evening on my old lossy heaters.1

I have sent you a copy of the quotation showing the prices on the E7 tariff. This has been backdated to the 1st July. I have provided internal feedback to my colleague regarding the E10 showing after the switch off date on the 1st July. This should not have been the case. I am waiting for the national database to be updated, as advised previous I will continue to check this daily.
********
i am still on e10 timings though , so don’t know when it will change via the meter ..I can hear the acls click so i know it’s defo not E7 yet

So are your rates actually e7 for billing and their just going to redo your old SR bill - or have any or your meter settings changed - or about to.Your rate, your rate timing tables modified to e7 or will they be remaining e10 - along with your alcs. Or will all eventually or imminently change to e7 ?As the former is back to where you were on Apr 1st - when they set only the tariff / tariff timings to e7 ?Have they updated anything on the meter - the rates, the timing table for the rates - as remember the rate timings have to be in sync with the alcs timing table - if not the use is put on the wrong register / rate.I suppose you might luck out as @PetitePea appears to have and be billed purely on r1 / r2 - and the timings wont change - but they couldnt do so via OTA for his metering - they can for you.So I wouldn't guarantee it will last even if they do miss it this time - as I suspect at some point you might get an e7 update sent - perhaps at next cap change - perhaps sooner.(the rates on E10 were about 5p more expensive peak pre Jul vs E7 - and the e7 rates are still published)I hate to say it - but you might need to check the charge rate now display on IHD / meter to be safe - as well as the contactor status (or listening for clicks) - again as the early Apr exercise. I wouldnt bother with all switch periods - the start or end of one - like mid afternoon or mid evening should be enough - when the OH around to help support you.And and when they told you the meter database was fixed - it appears perhaps they only meant they had actually after 4.5 months requested it - so another misdirection - and more delay on departure ?
