Hi. Just popped on to say that I had my PCN cancelled today thanks to the advice on this thread :)

After my original appeal they did send me a rather threatening looking letter telling me that I had to confirm who was the driver at the time of the charge and a deadline to which I had to reply.

I just ignored this completely and they had no option but to cancel the Parking Charge anyway

Process from start to finish was 53 days

    Nice result. Thanks for confirming!

Well done both! Easy when you know how!

And just a reminder - before the end of next week when it closes - please please do the government's Public Consultation.

We need every poster to come back & complete this vital Consultation before the deadline. I think Manchester Airport victims should be screaming from the rooftops about the unfairness of the new wheeze of barrier-less (but not free) drop offs with inadequate signs and no way to set a reminder or alert to pay once home.

I think these cases should be added to the Appeals Charter, maybe as the ONLY circumstance that justifies a £20 admin fee settlement offer. None of the other Appeals Charter examples justify £20 by the way. Those PCNs should be cancelled because they are 'not the driver's fault' errors but maybe this one (and overstaying when resting or falling asleep at a MSA?) should be added as 'test cases' at £20.

Please all of you reading this - call for protection for motorists at Airport barrier-less drop offs to be specifically added to the Code to protect people who would all have paid the £6 or £7, had you been fairly alerted / had an option to be reminded.

I think (as well as adding it to the Appeals Charter) the overall answer is that operators at Airports should only be allowed to run fee-paying barrier-less drop off zones if they either:

    - provide a quick way to scan your phone to receive a payment reminder AND/OR

    - revert to the £15 discount (which is a just about palatable double the missed fee) that NCP accepted at Gatwick until last year.

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that. It doesn't matter; no knowledge is needed except re your own experiences so you can call out a scam industry and you'll protect millions of motorists and help change the law.

I've written some guidance on that thread. I have covered almost every question, providing ideas if you agree with our stance on things like DRFs, which we say must be banned.

Ordinary people like you are falling victim to this scam 15 million times per annum. Motorists need your voice added please.

Hi. Just posting to say I followed Chirpy Chicken’s advice and the fine has now been cancelled! Result. Thank-you so much.
Great - please now seize the moment to change the law, as I said above (if you haven't done the survey already).

We are suggesting that Manchester Airport victims should be heard about the unfairness of the new wheeze of barrier-less (but not free) drop offs with inadequate signs and no way to set a reminder or alert to pay once home.

These cases need adding to the Appeals Charter, so the discount is £20 (or zero due to the trap/signs).

Hi,  just to say I had my parking fine at T2 Manchester Airport drop off cancelled today.  I used the template provided and when I received a letter demanding to know who the driver was I ignored it as advised.

    Thanks again 😁 🚗 ✈️ 📝
