So could be still working out just what rewards are going to be, but as the change has been announced the 90 day clock is ticking.

That is how I interpret it anyway, and then no need to jump through the hoops from 1 September. Just downgrade or ditch (no longer eligible for any switches with those that offer them any more, sadly).

IMO, only one interpretation is possible.

There is some interpretation of the words "you'll no longer be able" in cases where the renewal/switch has been applied for before the date, but is not due to come into effect until after.  I.e. the difference between "there will be no way of requesting a renewal/switch from 17th June" vs "no renewals/switches will be actioned from 17th June".

In other words, if you've got a reward expiring soon and the opportunity to renew/switch is already available then it might be a good idea to do the renew/switch before the 17th (unless the replacement scheme is going to be more generous).

Direction of travel I’m afraid…. Santander lite, Halifax. Current account perks being withdrawn. Wait out the cycle til someone wants more customers again.

Hi sorry I don’t come on here very often, but I saw my Santander 123 account was ending, and so I thought I’d look to see what everyone was thinking about that, and then I saw this Halifax Reward one was changing too!

My HR account is due for renewal on 21st June, so per previous posts on here saying people could renew now for that, I’ve been on to my Halifax account and can’t seem to see it being available to me?  

Would any kind some please direct me on where I’m going wrong ?

In online banking "Track my rewards" will list your account(s) with the current maturity date - if it is due to renew there will be a link to the renewal page.

Thanks for posting this. I had a quick check because of your message and did not realise one had come up for renewal so was able to lock in the fiver again (hopefully til June 26). I hadn't had any correspondence to say the year was up.

Just to say that the £5 rewards have appeared in my Reward accounts today (12th). Recent months have been 13th (or the first working day after that).

Thank you so much for posting.  Despite me renewing in June (I kept a diary note this year as I missed the renewal date a couple of years ago!) it’s saying mine expires at end of July, so I’m guessing I will luck out on renewing it now  😔  which is a shame as I’m losing my 123 account more or less at the same time.

mine run out 31st July too. no option to renew yet but keep checking daily as we might just fall lucky if the renewal becomes available before the 17th June.

Now the May fiver has been paid, can we not "upgrade" the account to an ordinary current account then upgrade back to a Reward account?

My renewal date is in September.
