Rather annoying because two of mine expire next month, but cannot renew yet. I don't really want to risk a ban closing and reopening for the sake of a couple of months worth of fivers, but it's unclear what will be on offer from September. Could be something better.2

Willps how long did you wait? I'm wondering if waiting longer might give you a different outcome. I've upgraded my joint account to a rewards account (I can't think why I didn't do it sooner, I only have one rewards account and you're allowed 3 from reading this thread).
It's slow to change online. I've logged out, etc but it is still calling my account just a current account and it's not showing in extras for me to choose a reward.
I got an email as soon as I changed it, saying to choose a reward in the 'my extras' section, but only the older reward card is showing in my extras.
I then followed the link in the email which took me to online banking rather than the app. Same as before, the new account doesn't show in 'my extras'. On there there was a little box to change the account type. When I clicked that out of curiosity it did name both accounts as reward accounts, so it has switched over in some aspects but maybe going slowly in others.0 -

I got the email:
I went back into "Upgrade Current Account" and it's listed as a Reward Current Account:
But it's not listed in the Reward Extras tracker. So not sure what's going on. 🤷♂️

I'll just wait and see I suppose. Nothing lost if it didn't work.0

I'll still move the £1,500 across into it and do the £500 debit card "spend" to ensure I'm not charged the £3 fee. Whether I get the £5 is anyone's guess!2

I think its very likely to be much worse ...but.... in the past they dropped the reward to £3 then dropped it to £2 within something like 12-18months (I cant recall the time frame exactly)..then it went back up to £5.
That was the purge and it worked with many who didnt hold ones ground as many had 4-8 accounts and couldnt deal with the admin for only £2 a month.
A fiver today doesnt have its same value as back in 2009 when the £5 reward started so its not alot but its better than nothing ...which is probably on the cards until it isnt .
Halifax will need a account carrot eventually though to sell accounts .0 -

Not that I expect them to index link it.I'll need to keep my accounts as they are contributing to my YouGov rewards, so if there is a void period, will just have to ride it out. As well as dropping the level of the reward, they've previously imposed a direct debit requirement then dropped it, and reduced the number of accounts allowed from 3 to 1 then back to 3.3 -
I wish yougov would invite me to the banking thing, I'm so jealous of how fast my husband cashes those £50s.0
