  • What I mean is you must lodge a complaint which they will try and complete/end/pay you off on that ph call meaning no official complaint is recorded .

The better option is go all the way and lodge a full complaint which they dont really want and it will work out better financially for you .

Is anyone else missing the final payments.  I've contacted Halifax and they said the rewards ended 17 June 2025?  I thought payments were honoured for existing customers till September and balances paid at the end of October.

I originally thought that about mine, but closer checks revealed that the rewards had actually expired in August.

Two of the accounts had their first reward payments in September 2020. The other three received their first payments in July 2009.  So logically none of them could have been renewed after the 17 June 2025 cut-off date.

I missed a final payment on my account where the rewards expired in August. I didn't realise this initially either. If you check your emails you should be able to pinpoint when your expiry date was from the last renewal.

I've had the account purely for the £5 a month reward. Am I right in thinking it's no longer of any use to keep it open? The savings rates are all ok but it can be matched elsewhere... I just need to find another bank account to switch to for the switching incentive. Not done it in a while :)

If you aren't using it for anything else, then switching is the best use for it. Note that recent incentives have had increasingly long ineligibility periods since your last incentive. If you do have to wait, then downgrading to a standard current account may be worthwhile so you no longer need to cycle money through it.

Spoke to customer service on the phone.  They couldn't work out what had happened but paid the missing rewards from August and September and a good will payment of £15.  Account promptly closed soon after.  For once very helpful and knowledgeable advisor on the phone and sorted over my lunch.
