I’ve had a quiet day today. I did all my cleaning so I’m pleased about that. Picked up some bread off Olio but it is gluten free so may not be very nice. I worked out I’ve only spent £40 this week which I’m really pleased about. Back to work tomorrow. I have a regular meeting with some colleagues who I haven’t really been getting on with very well so I’m a bit anxious about that. Hey ho.

Payday! Have moved all my money around and made a payment to my credit card. I bought some coffee from my coffee delivery and a set of knitting needles which I need to finish my current project. I put some money away towards a new computer as well as I’m starting a course and my computer is quite old and I can just see it breaking at the worst possible time.

I don’t have many spends or spendy occasions in August so just need to keep plodding on spending moderately.

Have moved almost of my credit card balance onto a 0% offer that the other card was doing. The only bit not on 0% now if what was on that card originally, about £300 I think. Something seems to have shifted in my mind. I have closed the other credit card and am determined not to use the one I have left while I pay it off. I am still giving myself a weekly allowance and I really need very little as I have plenty of clothes, books to read, etc. I'm really enjoying just having a quiet life. I'm 46 and have a few good friends, and am close to my family. I rarely go on nights out. I enjoy the cinema but even that is an occasional treat. I am planning to go wild swimming at the weekend again which is £6.50 for the swim and about £10 for the buses to get there.

Off for my lake swim this morning, looking forward to it. I have £65 spending money left for this week, I should be ok as I have no commitments this week. Did the washing and washing up last night, just need to vacuum today.

I have knitting group later today which I’m looking forward to. I’ll spend about £4 on a coffee there. I might try for a no spend day tomorrow.

I’m taking a trip to the Italian supermarket tomorrow. I want to get some provolone to make pasta bake and maybe pizza and they also have big bags of really nice crackers that are great to snack on so I’ll get some of them too.

Ended up going out for dinner on Monday. It was only £19.50 as my friend had 25% off but I spent the last of this week’s money plus £8. Have got a couple of coffees etc since then so next week’s money will be down by about £25. Not ideal. I’m doing well with my food spend although keep needing to buy olive oil which is so expensive. I seem to go through it like water.

    Roll on the weekend!

Bought a roll to have with hoummus for lunch for 70p as I’ve run out of bread and an almond croissant for £4 as I fancied a treat. I’ve actually got a bit of slack in the budget so I’m not going to take the extras out of next weeks money.

I’ve just been to my sister’s for dinner. She made cottage pie which was absolutely delicious. Now my tv has no sound, which has happened before. Last time it fixed itself after a bit. It’s a bit annoying though.

One more day to the weekend.

Bought a t-shirt and a jacket from Vinted today. The jacket was £45 but I’ve had it saved for a long time. I’m a bit annoyed with myself because it means the second half of the month is going to be a bit lean. I’m going to book swimming for tomorrow and I might go for an ice cream with my friend on Sunday.

I’m running out of food money so will have to plan carefully for the rest of the month. I will sit down and do this over the weekend. I’m also writing down everything I spend.

Am going for ice cream with a friend today, which will be about £4.50. Other than that should have no spends. I’m about to make some dough in the breadmaker to make rolls for lunches this week.

I went to buy some earrings I’ve been wanting but the shop was closed and I’ve taken that as a sign I don’t need them. I definitely can’t really afford them.

I’ve got £60 left in my food account. I have planned out the rest of this month’s meals and that should do me. If not I have some money left in my overdraft.

My ice cream yesterday was £6.30 but it had two scoops and the cone was dipped in chocolate so I think it was worth it. We were out for nearly six hours and also had coffee. I had an iced latte which was £4.80. I don’t think £11 is too bad for an afternoon out.

I’m enjoying the warm weather although it’s not good for knitting. My great niece will be here before I know it so I really do need to be getting on with it.
