Also, I have some news. I am soon to be starting a new job which I am very excited about. It seems like a lovely place to work and my supervisor seems lovely. Very happy!

I got my payslip today, am being paid £40 more than I thought so that’s all good. Two more days to the long weekend. I’m just enjoying a coffee on the sofa. I must pack for going away tomorrow night as I have to catch a train shortly after work on Friday.

Brought a flask of coffee in to work this morning, just sitting and enjoying it before I start. Bought a couple of packs of much needed undies in M&S, £16. Looking forward to getting the train after work and seeing family for three days. I packed last night, just a few last bits to put in after work. The weather looks ok for the weekend, sun on Sunday so hoping for a beach day. I’ve packed my swimming cossie anyway.

Also looking forward to a couple of days leave I have booked in early September when I am going to see my mum (just me this time) and relax. We also have my great-niece due in September which is very exciting. Lots to look forward to and then the new job. Things are generally good at the moment and I’m keeping control of the finances and slowly paying off the debt.

I’ve had quite a lovely weekend away, it was nice to see my family and we did some lovely stuff like go blackberry picking and to the beach on two days. Unfortunately my sister was ill and someone she had been away with tested positive for Covid. I was in two minds about going and slightly regret going now as last night I started to feel unwell. It would have been very quick for it to develop as I only got there in Friday. I’m pretty sure I caught it off her though. I’m taking regular paracetamol and just feel a bit wiped out with a bit of a cough. Luckily nobody else seemed to be getting ill and they had been with her all last week. I hope my mum doesn’t get it in particular.

Payday on Thursday, I have a ticket to Open Air Shakespeare booked but may not go unless I feel a lot better. I need to buy some decaf coffee and some bread but not a lot else.

Payday tomorrow, still ill but going into work as I’m usually the only one in, and always the only one on my floor. I felt better yesterday afternoon so said I would be back today - slightly regretting that.

I have £30 left in my overdraft and £20 cash which is much better than usual when I’m usually right up against the edge of my overdraft. Very pleased with myself. Might make a £10 OP towards my credit card.

I hope it cools down soon as I really need to get knitting on the baby cardigans. One just needs buttons and one is barely started.

Got paid today so I’ve made the debt payment and moved the money for the month into the various bank accounts. I paid for a coffee delivery plus coffee advent calendar which was £49 in total. Am debating a breakfast bowl from Toast which is £26, keep going backwards and forwards. I think I will resist and ask for it from a couple of people for my next birthday.

Feel terrible so am staying at home today. My washing up is piling up, I will try to get it done today. Might watch the Sewing Bee in a minute.

The bowl is very expensive and unnecessary for someone tackling their debt. What is so special about it?

You’re right of course. It’s handmade but I already have quite a few breakfast bowls. I have put it on a list of things I want, and made a £20 overpayment to my credit card.

Just having a pumpkin spiced latte and a breakfast bowl at Starbucks. It was nearly £10 but I needed to get out the house plus have been promising myself a pumpkin spiced latte. It’s raining so I used the umbrella I bought last year for my trip to Birmingham. I’m glad I got a good one as it has lasted, just need to not lose it!

Bought a pair of sports leggings for £16 off Vinted this morning. Going to go and get some paracetamol and sliced cheese in Lidl in a minute but otherwise that should be the spends done for the day.

Have been watching a great documentary on Netflix about Hurricane Katrina. It’s well worth a watch. Very moving.

Doing well and nearly fully recovered from whatever I had. I’m just enjoying an oat cortado in the open air at lunch (£3.40). I’ve got £10 cash to Friday but I don’t really need anything.

My sister and maybe my niece are coming round for dinner on Thursday so I need to decide what I’m going to cook and shop for that. That will come from the food pot.

Then I’m away at my mum’s this weekend until Tuesday as I have a couple of days off next week. I’m really looking forward to going away. Hopefully we’ll have nice weather but it will be lovely to see her even if not.
