  • Need to do a food shop. Also need to go and harass Asda about my script so will kill two birds with one stone.

Am away next weekend so need about eight meals. Haircut and a couple of other treatments today - do not ask me how much it costs, I’m cross just thinking about it.

    Starting Open University study tomorrow.

Also have a parcel to post for my niece and nephew.

I've just read through your diary - good luck with the new job and the OU course.

  • Had a good day today. I have a few things to do at work tomorrow then I have Wednesday off.

I’m away this weekend in London. I know, another mini break. I am having three mini breaks this year which is a bit excessive when I owe 2k. I’m meeting an old old friend on Friday night and some internet friends on Saturday. I’m also going to my favourite charity shop but have set myself a hard limit of twenty pounds to spend there. In the morning I will probably go to a cafe I know in East London where the coffee is great and not expensive (filter). Also I am going to a cafe which provides employment for Deaf and hard of hearing baristas and you can order in sign language. I’m beyond excited about this as I did a sign language course a couple of years ago. I’m sure they get very bored of people wanting to finger spell! It would be good to know how to say decaf oat flat white in sign. It’s near the Olympic swimming pool where I might go for my weekend swim. It’s important to have a routine. I wouldn’t go in the competition pool this time. Last time I went I went in there and it’s really deep and somehow it was a lot more difficult to swim. I’m glad I’ve done it though. I’ve been in the same pool as some of the greats. It’s a funny thought. I am also going to an exhibition about Disability and Design at the V and A which was the whole inspiration for going. I have my ticket for that already.

  • Thursday. Just enjoying some music before work. I’m a great aunt now. Forgot for a while this morning. I expected to be more pleased but instead I’m a bit worried about how their life will turn out. I guess that’s the way of the world. Still have not finished the cardigans so need to get a wiggle on or baby will grow. She got a hat which someone had made for a baby in hospital. So kind of people. I think it was quite an easy delivery, she was the weight that had been estimated. At least I’m going to tell myself that!

Finances are looking a spot disastrous. London trip is £180 including £40 on dinner with my friend on Friday (will be able to buy for him). £20 Oyster, 10 Saturday breakfast, 10 lunch, 15 drinks on Saturday, early night Saturday, £20 one item of second hand clothes in Traid, 10 Sunday breakfast, £4 Sunday lunch.

I will be down to the wire by the time I get paid, I have food but need some money to buy decaf coffee at my new job.
