Hopefully this works as an all new diary for me. Will add my debt into my signature and keep track of how I do going along.

It worked! I spend about £100-150 a month on coffee (not sure). I like home speciality coffee but am getting bored of cafe milky coffee which I just drink to keep me going throughout the day. I could also do with cutting back on craft stuff, clothes, and stuff for my home.

I’m away on holiday at the moment so managing to have some no spend days. I think my main problem is that I spend in every area. I also want less clutter in my flat. With less spending, less clutter will surely follow.

What coffee do you like? Since getting my Opal One pod coffee machine I've largely weaned myself off the expensive coffees from places like Pret, Nero, Starbucks and indy places.

Pods mostly come from Kaffe Kapslen (check them out if you have any machine other than the large, current Nespresso pods) or the supermarket... Much cheaper (but I like an espresso style, either black or with a splodge of double cream!)

We only use our bean to cup coffee machine now.  Far cheaper than the likes of Costa etc and more enjoyable.

My DH is a coffee snob and he buys ground coffee and makes it in a cafetière.  During lockdown we bought ourselves some nice insulated beakers/flasks and now we take them with us whenever we go out and about.  Today we enjoyed sitting on a sandy beach drinking our tea and coffee without needing to find somewhere to buy them, queue up and spend money.

I have to say a cafetire doesn't satisfy my coffee preferences - not strong enough! I like it very short and dark.

The OP hasn't returned to say what they prefer coffee wise.

I prefer coffee without any grounds in such as filter or aeropress coffee. Just having one now. I like bright coffee such as Columbian or Ethiopia. I had a coffee last year. I might get one again. It cost about £40. I won’t get a wool advent this year to make up for it.

£20 went out to my savings this morning. It usually goes on a Monday but obviously it was a bank holiday yesterday.

I don’t predict any other spends today.

I think I may have been the only one to vote no - just being mischievous I guess! I was remembering some thread ages ago where someone was talking about eking out instant coffee to save money and it was just such a joyless prospect. If you love coffee, have fewer but excellent, coffees. I'd rather do without many other things than a decent coffee start of the day. We're a stovetop espresso + milk frother household, so making probably closest to a piccolo or a cortado of a morning. Stovetops are pretty MSE I would think? First one was about £7 from Aldi :)
