I don't wear wetsuits and swim all year round.   Some places insist when water temperature drops, in the lakes this weekend water was 11-15.    If you do need one Lidl currently has then (don't know how much as they were in the sale bin) and placed like mountain warehouse do them for about £29. Or the cost of about eight coffees
  • Have bought a book on Visible Mending for £17 as a reward for doing a couple of things well. Apart from that I haven’t bought anything but food, coffees and the inevitable bills. I have about £200 in bills left to pay this month and then £30 towards savings and the rest is mine. I made the minimum payment towards my credit card as my pay got a bit messed up last months so I am short. Should get extra back at the end of next month although I will be taxed on it presumably. I’ll chuck some extra towards my CC next month. Need to check in on track to pay it off by the end of the 0% period. The weekend in London didn’t do too much damage.

A quietish weekend this weekend. Swimming, knitting and chores.
  • Going to make a £5 OP to credit card. Expensive fish pie with family tonight (they are worth it). Cheese sandwich and juice for lunch, one coffee to buy at work. No other purchases today hopefully.
  • Bought what they call a “batt” of fibre. It’s like unspun wool. The dyer dyes it based on a prompt you give her. I also bought some wool off her. £60!

My prompt was Haiku (petrol) as petrol is kind of my theme colour for my flat. I’m not going to spin it just use it for inspiration.

Seems I like the acquisition side of my hobby at least as much as I like the actual knitting.
  • 4th of the month. Need to do my figures but I’m too tired at the moment. Around 3 weeks to payday.

I want a new living room table but my current one is fine plus it’s sturdy enough to put your feet up on.

Just mentally preparing for my outdoor swim later.
  • Bought actual proper food in the supermarket this morning. I have curry tomato rice, tuna pasta bake, squash macaroni cheese and 3 x Chinese greens to look forward to.

Didn't go outdoor swimming because it’s cold at the pool and everyone knows each other and I feel a bit apart. Instead I booked online yoga (£20, capitalism has a lot to answer for) and bought a mat and a block from Decathlon. I’m going to stick at it over the winter until summer swimming starts up again at the lake.
  • Today is study day. I usually just go to Star****s for the afternoon but there is quite a bit to do as the module has kicked off in style so I’m watching the supplementary videos.

I have had one social thing this weekend, knitting group yesterday. I’m afraid we rather took over the cafe and talked in loud voices and I felt rather sorry for the people who were working there. I did my time in catering and hospitality and I know it’s a hard job.

Thinking about my trip to Lille. I hope it goes well and is nice. I want to take £200 so I can treat my mum. Maybe I can buy her some moisturiser (there is a big beauty superstore called Sephora) and give it to her for her birthday. I think she’d like that. She likes being given nice presents and a nice glass of wine.

The week at work has been a nightmare. Nuff said!
  • Still can’t believe my access course costs £1000. Fuming.

I’m thinking about doing a Geography degree as you can get student loans for it.

Let’s get this year out of the way first.

I am not good with money. Simple to say and not a problem for me to admit.

  • Am sitting in Starbucks. It’s busy. My coffee and cake cost £9.50. The module introduction is pretty interesting.

I missed my yoga class yesterday as I got the wrong time. I booked another one today. I will never give up on my pursuit of good health 🙂
  • Finished all this week’s study. It’s such a good feeling. Now I have the whole afternoon free. Need to go and buy a crochet needle to put buttons on a certain cardigan I’ve made.

    Maybe see you tomorrow.
